Home Grown Tomatoes

Alright, I might be jumping the gun a little bit, but the moment I saw this image from Fresh Brewed Designs called Grace in the Garden, I knew I was using it for a thank you card for my Dad. You see, he grows the absolute BEST tomatoes!! I get a bushel or so from him to make juice (I freeze it in ziploc bags) as well as make my favorite tomato sandwiches. Three years ago something happened to his plants and he lost every single one of them - what a sad day that was. At 84 he is still happiest out in the garden...and I get all kinds of yummy produce! Mom gets mad at him every spring for the size of his garden, but he loves growing things and giving away all that he reaps. Go for it I say!!!!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. My granny and my mom both LOVE being in the garden. They are up early picking and pruning and watching for bugs and catching water in rain barrels and so on. She is great at it too! I wish some of it rubbed off on me. I try, but I am not that great of a gardener! :/ AND they always give theirs away too... so your post made me smile and touched my heart. Thank you for sharing!!!! ((now I want a tomato sandwich... but only like fresh garden tomatoes so I will have to wait! hahahah!!!))

HUGS!
Heather
