It's Your Day!

Check out this fabulous image from Miss Rach. It's the latest freebie being offered for our Day of the Dead challenge going on HERE at the Miss Rach Challenge Blog. When I saw this fish, I knew right away I wanted to go with turquoise and green for my color palette. For once a plan came together as I had it thought out!!! Now head over to the Miss Rach Challenge Blog and pick up your freebie. Then be sure and join our challenge for your chance at some Miss Rach goodies!!

Happy Halloween

We have a new challenge starting today at Catch the Bug. It's a recipe challenge -- black and white plus a pop of color. Fun challenge, but the hardest part for me was figuring what my pop of color was going to be!!! As you can see, I went with yellow...because when coloring the candy corn, I forgot what the challenge was and after coloring the bottom of it yellow, I almost went with orange for the middle layer! I stopped myself just in time and made my own special version of candy corn!!! The image is from Bugaboo, one that must have retired since I can't find it (Hween Mummy Candy Corn), but take a moment and browse the shop for other cute images that will work just fine. And remember to join us for our black, white, plus a pop of color challenge over at Catch the Bug.

Merry Christmas

I know, I know, Christmas isn't for another few weeks (YIKES!!) but I wanted to share the freebie you can pick up from Bugaboo -- Santa Stockings. Crazy, I know, but I find myself pulling out my black cardstock for a lot of my Christmas cards this year. I love the pop it gives to the white and red in this card though. Be sure and grab your Friday Freebie from Bugaboo and let's get creative!!

It's Snowing!

Well it's not snowing right now, but a little over a week ago we had some snow in the air. Middle of October is way too early for me!! Sticking with the snow theme though, our challenge for the next two weeks at Holly Jolly Christmas is Snowmen, and I think you all know, I LOVE SNOWMEN!!! Check out this cutie I got to use from one of our sponsors, All Dressed Up. His name is It's Snowing and you can find it HERE. I used a snowflake set from Stamp of Approval holiday box to create the background and border of red snowflakes. I'm always grabbing pattern paper and decided to make my own so to speak. I love the colors of red, green and turquoise for the holidays, might have to create a few more cards with this color palette! Hope you can join us and share your most adorable snowman over at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Happy

We have a new CAS challenge starting today at The Outlawz, and the theme is balloons. Easy, right?!! I actually couldn't wait to use my new Blueprints 26 die from My Favorite Things. I sponged some inks onto a piece of white cardstock then cut it out as the balloon. My background is a Winnie and Walter stencil from the Stamp of Approval box that I rubbed Versamark ink over, covered in glittery embossing powder, then heat embossed it. Love the sparkles in real life! The happy die was cut out 3 times and layered on top of each other for added dimension. Almost forgot, the string and bow were cut out of silver foil cardstock. Talk about a quickie of a card too. Now join us and share your favorite balloons CAS style at The Outlawz.

Too Cute to Spook!

Welcome back to another Saturday challenge at Catch the Bug. This week it's time for a photo for inspiration.

I was inspired by the jack-o-lantern and the holiday of Halloween that it represents. I totally adore this Bugaboo image, Hween Brat Pumpkin. She is near the top of my all time favorites list from Bugaboo. She is definitely too cute to be spooky...so to have some fun, I added two googlie eyes to the sentiment! Sure hope you can join us this week at Catch the Bug for some photo inspiration.

Sweet Little Christmas

I made a mistake today and checked how many days until Christmas...can you believe it's 62!!! I can feel my stress level rising already!!! I made a fun little card for a reminder of our Sweet Treats challenge going on over at the Fresh Brewed Blog. The image, from Fresh Brewed Designs is Mrs. Claus. She's got herself some sweet treats all ready to give to Mr. Claus when he comes home from work!!! Seeing those cookies reminds me, I need to get my list together of baking I need to do for Christmas. My family will be happy for some sweet treats! Hope you can join us for our challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog.

Have Faith

I'm sharing my card today that uses the Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo Stamps called Ribbon Prim Angel Standing. At first I was going to go with a purple ribbon for Alzheimer's but then I remembered this fabulous digi paper from the set Angel Bear With Ribbon at Imagine That. I used wink of Stella on the angel's wings and the ribbon...love that touch of sparkle. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, Spiritual Sampler. Be sure and pick up your freebie this week at Bugaboo Stamps.

Merry & Bright

I've been in the Christmas card making mood. And shouldn't I be with all the sweet Christmas sets released this month at Imagine That! Digis by Kris. This one is Red Nose Reindeer and good news, he's on sale right now! However, if you'd like to save even more and get the entire October release, check out the bundle found HERE. Yes, I used the color version and added some glossy accents to his nose and the holly berries. Now let me explain, I had a terrible time getting a good picture. This one was the best over all except for those berries!! Believe me when I say, the glossy accents does completely cover them. The holly comes from the Holly Jolly Dies at Lil' Inker Designs and the sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Sweet Frosty Kisses

Check it out, we have a new sketch for you at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Talk about quick and easy!!

And we have the wonderful Sally Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique as our sponsor this week. Shouting out a great big "THANKS" to you Sally Ann for your continued support.

From Digi Stamp Boutique, I'm using the pre-colored and totally adorable Mr. Flurry. I should have stamped some snowflakes in the background...food for thought for next time! Join us this week for another fun sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

I'm submitting my card to the Customer Monthly Competition at the Digi Stamp Boutique blog.

Merry

I am a member over at Stamp Nation and so glad I am. Talk about lots of inspiration!!! Founder Catherine Pooler is so awesome, sharing so much of her time and talent. She has expanded her dream to include the Stamp of Approval, a box of goodies (stamps, stencils, dies, etc...the contents are always different for different themes) called this quarter Holiday Magic. Yep, it's all Christmas. Mine should be coming any day now so I'm getting myself in the mood by making Christmas cards with a friend tomorrow. We will be making this card, a CASE of a CASE from over at Stamp Nation. I used the Snowflake background die by My Favorite Things and the Holiday Fill in the Blank die by Avery Elle. I have white glitter paper under the snowflake die...love the sparkle. Talk about simple. The hardest part of this was punching out all those itty bitty pieces from the snowflake die!!!

Which Witch is Which?!

This week at Catch the Bug, Bingo is the name of this challenge. Fun options here, tough part is choosing what you will use.

Keepin' the layout pretty simple, and my buttons are in the form of brads along the bottom right hand corner. Join us at Catch the Bug for your chance at being our grand prize winner.

Love how bright and fun this is. I will be mailing it out...but to whom?! I love embarrassing my college boy with cute handmade cards, maybe he'll be the lucky recipient!! He'll be okay with that, as long as there's cash or a gift card inside!! Maybe I'll trick him and leave it empty!!! Hahahaha (insert evil witch laugh!!)!! There was a give away last week for the individual sets from this new release and the winners are being announced today HERE on the Imagine That Blog. Check to see if you're a winner!!

Happy Halloween

We're getting into the Halloween spirit over at The Outlawz with our clean and simple challenge this week. I started first by creating my background - I smooshed Squeezed lemonade, Picked raspberries and Spiced marmalade distress inks onto my craft mat then sprayed them with water. I laid down my watercolor paper down into the inks three different times, drying each round with my heat gun before going back in for more ink. Then I sprayed water into my hand and let it drip onto the panel, then pick pressing a paper towel over top to pick up the water and ink for some really cool water drop marks. The die is from Impression Obsession and called Halloween Hill. The sentiment is from Spooktacular by Lawn Fawn. The pink frame is also a die cut from My Favorite Things called Stitched Rectangle Frames. A fun simple card with big impact, thanks to the crazy background!! Join us for our Halloween CAS challenge at The Outlawz.

Happy Fright Night

I'm so lucky that my boss Heather, owner and artist at Fresh Brewed Designs, is so understanding!! I'm set to post my cards on Fridays...unfortunately, they always seem to be late on Fridays, rarely scheduled for early morning! I try, really I do, to be organized, it just never seems to happen!!

My card is a reminder of our color challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog. The colors are Orange, Black and Pink. Of course I thought of Halloween. After all, a pink monster can be pretty scary!! Have a Boo-tiful Day

Okay, lesson for today, you actually need to write up your post and schedule it for it to go live on your blog!!!!!!! Imagine my surprise when I get here this morning and discover my post about our newest sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 wasn't up!!

Our sponsor this week is everyone's favorite, A Day for Daisies. So many wonderful images are always being added to the shop so be sure and check 'em out!

I've been in the Halloween mood so I went with Spooky Fall Tree for my card. I found a couple die cut spiders to embellish along the side. And once again, the pattern papers came from my scrap pile. You'd think I would eventually see that pile go down but not yet!! Join us this week for some fun at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Christmas Owl

I love making Christmas cards! And when I get to make one with an adorable image like this one, I'm over the moon!!! This is Christmas Owl, a newly released digi set from Imagine That. Talk about a sweet image and fun sentiments included in this set. I used the color version and this card came together in no time. Well, let me re-phrase that, it come together once I added that strip of black glitter paper!! Funny how something as simple as that can really make a card!

Friends Furr-ever

I am SOOOOO late with my reminder card for the current Great Outdoors challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog (it ends tonight, so you need to hurry!!), I'm instead going to give you a heads up that we have a new challenge starting tomorrow that you don't want to miss!!! I think this Fox image from Fresh Brewed Designs is simply adorable. I am so not a person who loves to color, it's very stressful for me! But I'm actually pleased with how this one turned out. Be sure and come back tomorrow to the Fresh Brewed Blog for the start of our new challenge.

Stella Says Sketch

Stella has a new sketch for you to try! You can check it out over at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog.

Here's my card, using the sweet Bugaboo image Poppi Xmas Candy Cane. I've had this image colored for quite some time now, and this seemed like the perfect sketch to use him in. One more Christmas card to add to my pile.

Yummy!

Boy, this is taking clean and simple to a whole new level. Say hello to my 10 minute card. It would have taken only 5 but I had to stop and watch some of the baseball game on TV!! Our CAS challenge over at The Outlawz is food. Not a great topic for someone on a diet because there are days that's all I think about!! Lately I've been craving a big juicy cheeseburger...so I knew the exact image I would use for this challenge. This is Cheeseburger Ants from Doodle Pantry (the color version of course!). I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the two layers and that's all she wrote for my card. Okay, don't let me forget to mention the brads, my most favorite embellishment of all!! Now I'm off to make a hot cup of tea so I can try to forget about cheeseburgers!!! On a side note, my weight loss total is now 20 pounds...I couldn't be more pleased!!!

Let it Snow!

Okay, I changed my mind, don't let it snow!!! It was pretty cold here today that I thought I would see the white stuff floating around. Anyway, I'm here to share my card for the latest challenge going on over at Catch the Bug - Anything Goes. I dug around in my stack of Bugaboo images that I already had printed off and this one made me smile. This is Bobblehead Christmas Snowman. Join us over at Catch the Bug for your chance at some Bugaboo images of your very own!!

Faith Hope Courage

Kris, owner and artist from Imagine That, has designed a Breast Cancer Awareness set called  Angel Bear with Ribbon. Such a darling set! I used the adorable bear holding the ribbon along with one of the four digital papers also included. Keepin' it simple as well as keepin' it pink!
