Wash Day

Another card for the Wish RAK Celebration - VSN style. This challenge was inspired by a tropical drink - Lava Flows. I initially wanted to go with the colors of the drink (reds, whites and yellows) but then I came up with this idea. A baby card you ask??? Yes, this is what could happen if you've had too many Lava Flows!!!! Warped sense of humor, I know, but I've been without good sleep for several days so my mind is not thinking all that well!! I love that wheel, so glad I have plenty of images to play with since it's retiring.
For this card, Filigree is stamped in the background. I used Pale plum, Perfect plum, Certainly celery and white. I had this piece of lacy trim that I wanted to work in. Watercolored the clothes using my Aquapainter and ink refills.

Sunset Inspired

This challenge our colors were inspired by the sunset. Of course I thought of red, oranges and yellows. I used pumpkin pie, Marigold morning and Cranberry crisp (bidding a fond farewell to these wonderful colors). The Nice and Easy Notes I received thru wish RAK. I colored and cut out a second flower pot, tied hemp around it, and popped it up. Fun, fun, fun!!

Thank You Fairy Much!

Used an image I received thru Wish RAK. Over the weekend we held our Wish RAK birthday celebration and this challenge was to make a thank you card. My photo keeps getting deleted off of SCS so I figured I'd put it here. Colored with watercolored pencils, cardstock colors are Barely banana, Pixie pink and Basic Grey Gypsy. I can't believe I used these colors because I'm not a real huge fan of pink and yellow together.

Monochromatic Friendship Card

Wish RAK Celebration Challenge #2 - make a monochromatic friendship card. I love the shirt out of the Do The Hula set so I figured, why not, it's already got color on it!!!!! Used a sketch challenge as well -- why not. The "Aloha" is computer generated.

Challenge #1 - Food

The first challenge of the Wish RAK Celebration weekend was to use a food related image. I had to go with Fluffles -- after all, this is a birthday celebration!! Trying to use scraps on these cards too. I'll need to post the rest later. It's almost 2:30 in the morning and I'm really getting tired. Need to get some sleep because we're doing round two tomorrow. So much fun!!

Happy Birthday Wish RAK!

Tonight we are holding a Wish RAK Celebration VSN style -- challenges are posted every hour to use images we received as Wish RAKs. I was a challenge hostess -- make a card using a nature image you received. Here's mine using the Still Life Stems I received. Had fun with this one, watercoloring the flowers and pulling the colors out of the Heidi Grace DSP I had and absolutely love! I'll try and post all the cards I get done this weekend!! Fun, fun, fun!!

Square Card Challenge

GASP!!!!! I've completed four challenges this week!! Unheard of for me!! I hope to get today's done yet this evening!! Anyway, this "Ways to Use it" Challenge was for a square card. I pulled out some scrap Daisy Ds paper and it went from there. Love these big flowers, I folded it in half then used the big brad. It was 1:30 in the morning and I'm sitting at the sewing machine hummin' along - nobody said anything like I got them awake with the noise!! The prickly pear cactus is colored with watercolor pencils. Busy card but fun.

Color Challenge

Wow, two challenges in a row -- and two days in a row posting to my blog...go figure!! Today's color challenge was Real red, Creamy caramel, and Barely banana. Great colors together, and of course I pulled out my Easy Elegance set. I love doing my favorite technique with these flowers, rock 'n' roll. Linen over top the flowers, Canvas over the banana layer, Paisley over the red semi-circle. Super fun, super easy!!

Technique Lovers Challenge

Today we were challenged to make a speedy card. I had this Simple Sent kit and never used it -- as a matter of fact, I hadn't even mounted it yet!!! Well, today I did and since it was diecut, that process went really fast!! I used Tempting turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Certainly celery and Cameo coral markers and cardstock. I spilled my big box of markers all over my stamp room floor -- oh bother! It took me longer to pick them all up than to make this card!! Simple and fun, plan to make more then send out as RAKs. I just noticed, NO RIBBON OR BRADS -- oh no!!!!!!!!

Yes, a Christmas Card!

This is for June's Christmas card challenge. Love this challenge, make 10 cards each month and you are done!! No added stress come holiday time.

I don't use this set very much (Holiday Trim) and I don't know why. I love this tree! And of course I needed to use the current In Colors before they're retired. I love using non-traditional colors for my Christmas cards. Keeps everyone on their toes!!!

New Rubber!!!

I'm taking a bit of a breather from swaps to play with some new rubber I've been buying... and buying and buying!!! This cactus stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and I love it!! I don't have anything like it!! AND, it pulled out my Prismacolor pencils for a change. I finally purchased Gamsol (was using odorless mineral spirits from Michaels and not happy with the results, therefore the reason I wasn't using my pencils!) and what a difference!! The colors really blend so much smoother. This card also fulfills the color challenge from this week - Elegant eggplant, Ruby red and Certainly celery.

Good Morning To You!

It's a rather cool day here today, only 60 degrees. Quite a change from the near 90s we had last week!

Isn't this an adorable doggie stamp?! As soon as I saw him at the stamp store I put him in my basket. That's how I'd be at a pet store too, see a cute animal, bring 'em home. That's how we adopted our second cat so I've been banned from visiting the shelter!!!

The colors on this card are Close to cocoa, Marigold morning (need to make room for the new In Colors I just ordered!!), Bliss blue (yes, I still have some of that laying around), and Rose red. Pup was watercolored and a Tombow light grey marker provided a little shadow. Love the A Muse phrase that is punched out using the word window punch and glitzed up with a tiny jewel. A second word window was punched out of blue and layered under the words. Oh, by the way, this is for Sketch Challenge #125 - yes, I'm a little behind!

Last of the Swaps, For Now

How bad am I? I bought this set just so I could join in a swap!!!!! Awful, I know, but I've been looking at it for quite sometime so why not!! Bad thing is, it's being retired. Oh well, I needed some juvenile stamps. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Colors used are Pixie pink, So saffron and Only orange. The ribbon I found on clearance at Wal-Mart for 50 cents!!!

Busy day today -- after work I hit the grocery store, came home and ate lunch. Then I took older DS to his flag football game -- it was only 90 degrees outside!! He scored a touchdown on the second play of the game!!! Hooray Phillip!!! Now he's over playing at a friend's house. Little DS spent the afternoon at the swimming pool with Dad. How fun for everyone.

I finally got some scrapbooking done too. Finished a journal for our cats and plan on working on some football pages. Loved the scrapbook sketch challenge for this week, I'll have to see what I can come up with. Enjoy your weekend!

Smile and Be Happy!! It's Friday!

I signed up for this set in a swap I'm involved in on purpose to make me use it. I always have a mental block with it. Swap requirements were to use this set using Pumpkin pie, Apricot appeal, Certainly celery, and any other colors we wanted. I added Real red and Bashful blue. Are there any dimensionals used?? Well, of course there are - Smile, the red flower, and the tag. Gotta love those popups!!!

Today was my DS's last day of school. DH took the day off so we could go see his talent show. He played the saxaphone, along with friends who played other instruments to the Blues Brothers "Soul Man." So fun!! Ah, now the summer begins.
