Open if you Dare!

Welcome to our new fun challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog. You still have time to play along in our monthly prize challenge, read all about it HERE. Meanwhile, I hope you can join us this week for a Fall Wreath Photo Inspiration. Check out the wide variety in this picture. Does one grab your fancy, cause you to think of images you have that would work for this challenge? My eye was immediately drawn to the purple one with eyeballs!! And here's my card:

Yes, I am still on a cupcake kick, but this one has googlie eyes all over it!!!!! This sweet Fresh Brewed Designs digital image is called Dotty Cupcake (no, not Eyeball Cupcake!!!!!). I actually stole this idea of artist and FBD owner Heather herself! Hope she doesn't mind!!

Pumpkins for Sale

Happy Wednesday and welcome to our latest and greatest challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This is one sketch you are really going to have to use...again and again, it's that fun!!

Our sponsor this week is The Doodle Garden. Take a moment to look around, you'll find lots of fun images! The prize being offered to our winner is 5 free single digis. And now a little bit about The Doodle Garden:

  "HI all!

Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little bit about the gal behind The Doodle Garden digis!

I'm Jennifer L Nilsson (but please, call me Jenn or Jenna!). And I am blessed to be able to work full-time from home as a licensed artist.

I enjoy creating bright whimsical pieces for manufacturers, but also wanted to be able to offer something to those who like to craft. So I have begun my journey with digistamp designs with my Etsy shop: The Doodle Garden.

It's fairly new, but is growing pretty fast and I am SOOO enjoying creating these little whimsies for YOU!"

Here's my card using the image Pumpkin Cart. I have a little explaining to do because I can hear you all saying "it's crooked!!" I say it's going up hill! I fretted over the position of this image for a very long time. If I made the ground flat, the bird looked like it was about to fall off the pumpkin. At more of an angle, the pumpkin on the ground looked like it was going to roll right off the card. My eye simply could not decide what looked best so I compromised. I kept with the circle theme too with the embossed background and designer papers. Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you can join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

There are a couple of challenges I'd like to submit my card to:
Love to Create - Lots of Layers
Kaboodle Doodles - Fall Themed Items

Merry & Bright

Boy, you can really hear the wind and rain outside. Sandy has arrived in Pittsburgh. I'm typing this late Monday night and just happy to still have power. That way I get to share my card with you I made using a newly released digi from Fresh Brewed Designs called Christmas Ballerina. I don't do a lot of girly cards, but this image is a tough one to pass up. I used Stickles on the tree garland and Crystal Effects on the ornaments. The sketch is from the Sunday Sketch & Stamp challenge blog. I used papers from the new Gina K Designs Merry Little Christmas Stamp TV Kit; they are so pretty! Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful today.

Stella the Witch

It's time for a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. A perfect sketch indeed!!! And our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps.

You know how I love Bugaboo Stamps so this was  beyond words FUN to work with Stella Witch found HERE.  Leave it to Stella to say something sarcastic!!!! Hehehe!!! I used my Copic markers on the image and some scrap designer paper for a fun Halloween card. The little black cat is a punch that I've used on a lot of my spooky cards. The sketch is fabulous and our sponsor is fun, so I sure hope you can join us at Seems a Little Sketchy

YUM, Popcorn!!

It's Sunday and time for a new CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. Our theme is "Trick or Treat." Now, if you're like me, you look forward more to the treats and not the tricks. So our challenge is to create a CAS card that features a treat you enjoy. Mind you, treats don't always have to be food related, so be creative. Popcorn is a real big treat for me, especially when it's sprinkled with cheese and I'm sitting in front of the TV watching a movie. It's from Doodle Pantry that I got this adorable image, Movie Ants Color. I printed off one of the digital papers from this set and turned it into my card base. And yes, that is a pre-colored digi...another treat of mine!!! Please join us over at The Outlawz for our fun challenge.

Trick or Treat

This has been not "one of those days" for me but rather "one of those weeks!!" I totally messed up my post on Wednesday for the Fresh Brewed Blog challenge, Sweet Not Spooky Halloween. So here's my card as a reminder to join us for the fun!!! I used a digital stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs called Bride of Franken-Corn. Is she not fabulous?!!! I love her hair!! And the fact that she's candy corn fits this sweet challenge perfectly. Sure hope you can join us. Don't forget about the month long "Thinking of You" challenge too, read all about it HERE.

Tomorrow I'm attending a seminar for my instructor re-certification in taekwondo. Say a little prayer that I'll survive the 3 hour morning workout! If you don't hear from me on Monday, you'll know I didn't make it!!!!!

Happy Halloween

Ooooooo, spoooooky!!! What could be scarier, oops, I mean cuter than an ant dressed up as a ghost!!! Halloween is but a few days away and I can't wait for it to get here so I can get all this tempting chocolate out of the house!!! I "whipped up" this card this morning after getting my youngest on the bus at 7am (too early for me!). It was quick and easy to do because it's a colored digi from Doodle Pantry called Candy Corn Ants. The adorable ghostie paper is also from this set. I want to submit this card to some challenges:

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Halloween/Spooky
Top Tip Tuesday - Halloween
Tuesday Throwdown - Halloween
Lexi's Creations - Halloween
Cutie Pie Challenge - Halloween
4 Crafty Chicks - Halloween
Moving Along With the Times - Too Cute to Spook

Believe me, there's a lot more fun challenges out there for Halloween. But I still need to hang up the laundry, get my shower, hit the grocery store (hopefully to get some idea of what's for dinner tonight) and go to Starbucks. Have a wonderful weekend.

Autumn Blessings

They're calling for 80 degrees today!!! Love it! As soon as I finish this post, I'll hang up the laundry outside. So let me tell you about my card. It's a color digi (shockers there!!!) from Clear Dollar Stamps called Autumn Blessings. The gorgeous sketch I followed came from Tuesday Morning Sketches. A few other challenges I'd like to play along with are:

Divas by Design - Use orange
Inky Impressions - Fall/Halloween
Forever Friends - Halloween and/or Autumn
Love to Create - Pumpkins
One Stitch at a Time - Use a digi
Mark's Finest Papers Speedy TV Simple Salutations - Fruit/Vegetable

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Happy Fright Night

Be sure and check out this fun sketch though that we are featuring this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Isn't it grand?!! I love the oval in a circle look.

Know what else I love? Why our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps, of course. I can't even count how many Bugaboo images I have...yes, it's that many!!! And if you are our winner, you will receive 7 free digis of your choice! Fabulous!!!

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug.

And here is my card, using Arlana's fabulous sketch and Jodie's adorable image, Halloween Peeker - Frankenstein. He simply makes me smile. I used my Halloween cat punch again as well as a PaperTrey Ink sentiment. Super fun! Now I can't wait to see what all you create with our sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Trick or Treat

I have two blog hops going on this weekend. Please check out the Fresh Brewed Designs rubber release blog hop by clicking HERE.
This blog hop is for Clear Dollar Stamps. You should have arrived here from Lori's blog. If not, please start at the beginning at the CDS Blog. Our theme this month is "Trick or Treat." Because I'm dieting, my mind was 100% on the treat part of this theme!!! Why is it, when you're dieting are you hungry all the time and think about food non-stop?!! Anyway, I had to print up one of my favorite digis, Yummy Cupcake. I actually printed it up twice, and I actually cut out one cupcake, sponged the edges, and popped it up. I also used glossy accents on the strawberry. And don't you simply love the sentiment?!! I know I do.

For your last stop on our hop, scoot on over to Vickie's blog. I hope you've been leaving comments along the way too. We will randomly choose a winner of a $25 gift certificate to the CDS store for digital stamps from all the blog comments. So comment, I don't want you to miss out.

The Colors of Fall

Welcome to a new CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. One of my favorite things about autumn are the colors. Our challenge to you this week is to create a CAS card and pick only 3 of these 5 fall colors - green, yellow, orange, red and brown. For my card, which is also doubling as my brother's birthday card, I'm claiming green, yellow and red as my three colors. Okay, okay, there is brown in there too with my stamping, but that's my neutral - my story and I'm stickin' to it!!! My "red" ended up being an orangish red, but I'm still calling it red!! Both the trees and sentiment come from GinaK Designs - Sun Kissed Autumn and Pleasant Plurals. Like I said, I am sending this off to my brother for his birthday. His daughter's wedding was yesterday so I could have given it to him then, but it's definitely more fun getting cards in the mail, even for guys. Join us for our Limited Colors CAS challenge at The Outlawz.

Thinking of You

It's Friday and time for our newest challenge over at Clearly Inspired Challenges. This time we're asking you to tie it up -- use ribbon on your creation. Based on the # of participants determines how many prizes are up for grabs. I used the featured digi that you could win called Word Doodles. Can you believe how simple this is?!! Happy Fright Night

This is my third post today. Scroll down to also see challenges at the Fresh Brewed Blog and Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

This card is for our month long challenge over at the Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog - a Halloween theme with distressing. Our sponsor is Limited Runs Digital Stamps. And this is a fun image from Limited Runs called Pumpkin Boy. I thought he was adorable. A simple card, with sponging and distressing of the image edges. How fun, since I was able to use some designer paper scraps too. Hope you can join us this month for a fun and not so spooky challenge at the Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog.

Be Jolly

It's Wednesday!! Lots of fun challenges and cards I get to share. For our challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog we are asking you to use orange, pink, yellow, plus one other color on your creation. I went with a Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp called Ice Skating Cutie Pie. I know there are other colors in the designer paper, but I tried to go with brown as my +1. A simple card...exactly what I was going for!!

Don't forget about our Rubber Stamp Release and Blog Hop this weekend. I can't wait to show you the new stamps, but I can't right now, unless.......no, I can't ask you to send chocolate or a Starbucks latte, that would be bribery. So we are both going to have to wait for Saturday, when I can eat my own chocolate and go get my own latte (mmmmmm, pumpkin spice!!).

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Welcome to a new challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are always so happy to see so many talented stampers playing along week after week. Here's our latest sketch, one that is sure to used again and again.

And our sponsor is Sally Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique. Be sure and check out her shop, it's filled with so much adorableness (is that even a word?)! The prize she is offering our winner this week is 6 FREE digis!!!

"All images/designs are created and copyright owned by Sally-Ann Hancock. My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too - often the inspiration for my designs. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy creating."

Here is my card, using the digi image Rugby Dan, part of the Funtime Dan collection. He is such a cutie, playing football with his friends. Of course I had to "dress" him in my team's colors, black and gold. I even found a scrap of Steelers paper to use. A little bit of twine and a football brad and this card is complete. Now let's see your creations using our latest sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Digi Release Day at Clear Dollar Stamps

Welcome to our monthly digital release at Clear Dollar Stamps. I'm always excited for you to see what is being released each month, because it's always so fabulous!!!!! My first card uses Lisa Lara's set called Souper. I used the color version of the little soup cans, merging the sentiment onto the cans. This was not my initial idea for my card, but when I goofed up printing my images, another idea was born!! And I'm happy with the way it turned out!

Next up is Eat More Ham. Again I used the color version as well as the digital papers included in this set. This set, in the clear acrylic, was the very first set I created with when I joined Clear Dollar Stamps a few years ago. So of course I had to create with it again in digital form!! I merged some of the leaves to make it appear Mr. Turkey was running through a pile of them as he tried to make his get away!!!

And last up is Little Bethlehem. I used the color version and one of the digital papers. Some very non-traditional Christmas colors...this is right up my alley! Such a quick and easy card to make.

Check out the CDS blog, Clearly iStamp, to see all the wonderful digis being released today. You will want them all, I have no doubt!!

Happy Fall...

And a spicy pumpkin latte...YUM!! I got a large one the other day at Starbucks and stretched it out over three days!! That way I could really enjoy it! And what's funny is Spicy Pumpkin Latte is the name of the wonderful stamp I used from Fresh Brewed Designs. I hope you are a follower of the Fresh Brewed Blog so you can stay up to date on all the fun happenings. Owner and designer of FBD, Heather, has challenges every Wednesday, with the first of the month being a prize challenge. An adorable digital stamp called Christmas House is free to play along in our Facebook challenge - get all the details HERE. And as if that isn't enough, this weekend is our monthly rubber release and blog hop!! It's always an exciting weekend when a blog hop is included!! I hope you can join us in all the fun happenings going on at the Fresh Brewed Blog.

A Fun Halloween

Hopefully this is going to be a fun Monday for you!! My oldest is going for his senior pictures today after school. I still can't believe it's his senior year of high school.

Today is a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. Check out the new sketch we have for you to try out...it's great!!! And our sponsor this week is Squigglefly. Be sure to check 'em out, what fun images they have!!

Speaking of fun images, I had a blast using Squigglefly's Giddy. Isn't he hilarious?!!! Don't ask me why I decided to go purple with him, my least favorite color. But I am thrilled with how he turned out!!! Silly and spooky all at the same time, that's why I turned it into a Halloween card too. Hope you can find some time to join us at Seems a Little Sketchy for this awesome sketch.

CAS - Fall Leaves

Yesterday was my ALL DAY crop at the scrapbook store. Yep, from 9am till midnight (okay, I made it until 11:30 when I was too tired to create anymore, so I packed it in for a 30 minute drive home) I worked on scrapbook pages for my niece's album, my son's trip to Ireland, and even some old playing in the snow pics. The store had 4 "classes" scheduled throughout the day, 3 double page layouts and a mini album. I didn't get as much done as what I wanted to, but I still had a blast. Can't wait to sign up for the next one!!

Now today I'm playing catch-up for not being home yesterday by being late posting my Outlawz CAS Challenge card. Our theme this week is fall leaves. I had seen this technique on Facebook so I decided to case it. I die cut the leaf and used the negative portion to put some paper peeking out from underneath. The designer paper and sentiment is from Gina K Designs, her Sun-kissed Autumn Stamp TV Kit. Be sure and join us at the Outlawz CAS Challenge for a fun fall project, clean and simple style.

Twelve Days of Christmas

And all 12 days are on this card!!! It's a digital set from Clear Dollar Stamps, and you can find it HERE. Yes, I used the color version and one of the digital papers included in the set. I want to submit this for the challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge - T is for the 12 Days of Christmas.

It's been a busy week. Saturday I am going to an all day/night crop at our local scrapbook store. It's actually from 9am - midnight! I want to attempt to organize my pictures and match them up with papers, sketches, etc that I want to do. I might actually get some scrapping done this way!!! I'm currently playing along with the LOAD challenge (lay out a day) over at Let's Scrap. I'm keeping up with it, making two page layouts which then counts for two days. I think everyone is tired of seeing vacation pictures at the beach so I need to change it up a bit!! Believe me, I have plenty of pictures and supplies to do just that!

Sweet Autumn Blessings

It's Wednesday, and that means a multi-post day for me! Please scroll down to see today's new challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog. And as you can see here, we have a wonderful new sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for you to try. It's a blast from the past sketch and super fun to work with.

Our sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies. Our winner this week will receive a $12 gift certificate for the ADFD shop...lucky you!!!!!

"A DAY FOR DAISIES provides themed categories of over 1000 fun and whimsical digital images, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!"

And speaking of lucky, I was able to work with this darling image, Playing in the Pumpkin Patch. So sweet and so fun to create with it. I actually found the paper from my stash first. How wonderful to then know what colors to use!!!!! Sure hope you can join us for this fabulous sketch and your chance to win at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Best Friends

It's Wednesday and time for a new fun challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog. This week our them is Best Friends/Love with Fall Colors. My two best buds are a Fresh Brewed Designs digi called, yep, your guessed it, Best Buds!!! I paper pieced  all their clothes using an old Basic Grey line called Mellow. Talk about perfect fall colors too with that collection! I hope you can join us for the fun this week at the Fresh Brewed Blog.

Christmas Creations

Christmas Creations is the theme for this month's pre-blog hop Facebook challenge from Fresh Brewed Designs. Read all about it HERE at the Fresh Brewed Blog. You can use any Winter/Christmas FBD digi or rubber stamp you may already own or get this freebie, Christmas House. To get your free digi, go HERE and "purchase" it, using the code FREE HOUSE to get it free. Don't forget to use the digital delivery option to get free shipping. It's that simple then you too can get started creating with this adorable image. I used Stickles on the snow and crystal effects on the peppermint chimney for some fun dimension. I went through some of my paper stash yesterday and found these sweet papers, fun and perfect for a Christmas Creation!

Long Weekend

And Saturday was World Card Making Day!! I didn't participate in any on-line challenges, but I did just make some quick and easy Christmas cards. I wanted to use a stamp set or two that I haven't used in a very long time, and these cards fit the bill.

All three cards I used a stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps called Holly Jolly. The first two cards I used the Holly Jolly die. The third card only uses a sentiment from this set, but I really love the font...so whimsical. I kept them clean and simple and in my favorite size, 4.25" square.

This card uses a Doodle Pantry image and papers -  Holly Stag and Holiday Joy Digi Paper. I have had this pre-colored image printed and cut out with a nestie for quite some time now so why not use it. And yes, I admit it, the papers have also been printed off and just sitting on my desk. Making the card took no time at all - exactly the reason I love using pre-colored digis!

So four holiday cards for World Card Making Day, not too shabby! Enjoy the rest of your long weekend. But now I'll be all messed up on what day it is!!

Sweet Thing

Sunday means a new Clean & Simple challenge over at The Outlawz. This week we challenge you to make a birthday card for a child. I immediately thought of this ice cream cone stamp set and die I had yet to use from PaperTrey Ink called Sweet as Can Be. The cone was die cut from white and stamped with brown ink (I have so many, I don't remember which one!) while the ice cream was cut from felt. I know the challenge is for a kid's birthday card, but this could work for an adult too. After all, who doesn't LOVE ice cream?!!!

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Howdy Ya'll

Ever make a card just because? Me too, and you're lookin' at it!! I could say just because it's World Card Making Day. Or just because I thought of a friend who I haven't talked to in forever and wanted to send her a card. Or just because this image is just so darn cute. Any of those "excuses" work for me. This cutie of an image is a recent release from Doodle Pantry and is called Farmer Birdie. Yes, once again I used the colored version of a digi. I absolutely love the convenience of it. Cute paper too...it's one of three designs included in the set. Don't forget about our digital challenge on the Doodle Pantry Blog. Use a Doodle Pantry image and you will receive a stunning digi set absolutely free. Who doesn't love that?!!!

Merry Christmas

Woohoo, it's Friday!! And being the first Friday of the month, it's also time for a new Clearly Inspired Challenge. We're getting sentimental with this one, focusing only on sentiments. As always, there's a new featured digital set called Word Doodles that you could win simply by playing along. I went with a different set by Lisa Lara, Ornament Sentiments. Trying to get a variety of quick and easy Christmas cards done because it's just around the corner!!!! YIKES, panic set in with that one! Enjoy your day and hope you can join us for our Clearly Inspired Challenge.

Blowing Out the Candles

I need to get a birthday card in the mail for my father-in-law, and knew exactly what set I wanted to create with. This is a Clear Dollar Stamps pre-colored digital from Yard Yabber. And the sentiment is oh so perfect!!! I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, allowing me to show off the digital papers also included in this set! Now to get it ready to drop in today's mail. Enjoy your day!

Thinking of You

This is my third post today...please scroll down for my Sweet Sketch Wednesday and The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog posts. Be sure and read this one though for the Fresh Brewed Blog. It's time to announce our monthly prize challenge for October and show off the new digi release at Fresh Brewed Designs. Our theme this month is "Thinking of You." I used the lovely new digi called Sweetie Tweetie. I flipped the image, just for fun. Now don't laugh at my poor attempt at coloring a blue bird. It's a young one and he hasn't got all his glorious colorful feathers yet!!! An artist I am not. I hope you can join us this month for our latest challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog.
Happy Wednesday! It's over the hump day, HOORAY!! It's also the day I get to show you the newest sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Some sketches just click for me, others I have to sit and ponder them for awhile. This one clicked, and I know it will for you too!!!

Our sponsor this month is Saturated Canary. Krista is offering 2 free digis from her shop to our grand prize winner!!

My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight! I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog, Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

Boy did I have fun making this card!!! It all started with the super fabulous image, Zombie Philly. I swear this is how I look most mornings!!!!!! I used my copic markers on him and found scraps of paper to work with the Halloween theme. A friend of mine had gotten me this cute cat punch. They looked lost just by themselves, so I decided to mount them on the purple circles and was much happier with the results. I sure hope you can join us this week for some great fun at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

If the Broom Fits...

Fly it!!!!! Welcome to our new monthly challenge over at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog. This month we want to see Halloween projects with distressing. I used a cute image from Limited Runs called Speedy Witch. I knew I had this hilarious sentiment stamp too, so how perfect!! I sponged around my witch and designer paper for a distressed look. A simple layout, but I'm starting to like those!! Hope you can join us this month for our challenge at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog.
