Butterfiles

It's challenge time over at The Outlawz and today in the Clean & Simple group we're looking for butterflies. Any theme will do as long as it has a butterfly on it AND is CAS. I used a Papertrey Ink die for the first time (unfortunately I still have a few more that could fit that category) called Tag Sale #10. I glued the scalloped frame onto the tag along with the sentiment banner. My butterfly is also a Papertrey Ink die, Seasonal Stitching: Butterflies. I cut it out of pink felt and adhered antenna I created using waxy flax. And yes, I put the butterfly on an angle to help cover up an oops!! Those happen a lot around here. Join us for some CAS fun at The Outlawz.

Fun in the Sun

Happy Thursday! I'm busy getting organized (not one of my strong suits) for vacation...we leave on Sunday for the beach. My oldest son is staying home so he can work and earn more money. That's okay with me, I have someone to take care of the cats and water my hanging baskets. I need to do some grocery shopping though so he has food for dinner.

My card is a reminder of our latest challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog - Red, White & Blue. I used the colors but didn't got the patriotic route. Instead, yep, I went beachy!! I used from Fresh Brewed Designs this cutie, Crabby Baby. I found an unused paper pack by Authentique that was just the right colors. Keepin' it simple, that's my motto. Sure hope you can join us for our color challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog.

Challenges I'd like to submit my card to include:
Card Mania - Babies
The Crazy Challenge - By the Sea
Robyn's Fetish - By the Sea
Open-Minded Crafting Fun - Patriotic Colors

Sweet Sketch With a Twist

It's the last Wednesday of the month, so it's time for a sketch and added twist at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Here's our sketch, another fabulous one! And the twist...buttons and bows.

Our sponsor this week is Sami Stamps. Here's a little bit about Sami, in her own words:

"Hello! I’m so happy to be here as a Sponsor for Sweet Sketch Wednesday! Sami Stamps provides a variety of high quality Digital Stamps in both JPEG and PNG formats.  I hope you enjoy crafting with Sami Stamps as much as I enjoy illustrating them!

If you’re having fun here, please feel free to come check us out!"
The grand prize winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to Sami's stamp shop

Here's my card, using the sweet Snowflake Feathers. Yes, I went with an owl meant for a winter themed card but didn't create a Christmas card! So fun and versatile. I'm so happy with the way this turned out, I think it's the black and added pop of bright with the yellow. Perfect for summer. I sure hope you can join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 for our sketch and added twist, buttons and bows.

I want to add my card to the Sami Stamps challenge -- Add stripes

Show Me Some Glitter

That's our challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas...show me some glitter. I used an image from our sponsor, The Stamping Boutique. I so love snowmen and this guy is so fun. He's Snowman - Father Time. I used Stickles for my glitter, applying it on my die cut snow hills as well as several places on the image. Gotta say, this is about the most glitter I use on any one card!! But that doesn't mean you can't show off more on your creation!! Be sure and share it with us over at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Challenges I'd like to submit my card to include:
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - G is for Glitter
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Sparkle and Shine
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Goes Christmas

Say hello to Super Birdbrain! He's the June stamp of the month at From the Heart. I got him free just by playing along last month! All you have to do is play along in the progressive challenge found HERE and you'll receive next month's stamp absolutely free!! I think I'll save this card for my father-in-law...even though his birthday isn't until October. Hey, does that mean I'm actually ahead for a change?!!!

Howdy

It's my turn to post the Clean & Simple challenge over at The Outlawz. This week we're looking for masculine cards of any theme, as long as they're CAS. Masculine with clean & simple seem to go hand in hand. I felt like a western card and decided to use a stamp set from My Favorite Things. The strips of paper are scraps, of course. I'm always trying to us 'em up! Please join us at The Outlawz and let's hear it for the boys!!

Life's a Beach

A week from tomorrow we'll be on our way to the beach...HOORAY!!! This year it will be just the three of us though. Phillip decided to stay home so he won't miss out on any work days! That's my boy!!!

For my card I'm using June's Digi of the Month for the progressive challenge at Deedee's Digis. This stamp set is so cute, with lots of wonderfully fun sentiments too. Kept it simple, it's late and I'm too tired to be more creative than that!! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Brown Sugar - Dots and/or Stripes
Creative Corner Challenges - Summertime
Cute Card Thursday - Beside the Seaside
Moving Along With the Times - Seaside

I Heart You

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches this week. Talk about a great sketch! I hope you can play along for a chance at some Doodle Pantry goodness!!

I used this sweetie, Li'l Tin. I love the colors, and thought the hearts would be a perfect substitute for the flowers. Funny how adding just that simple red wavy strip just brings this card to life. Will have to "borrow" that idea more often. I used some digital paper also from this set as well as some Glossy Accents on the heart of the sentiment. Quick and easy. Will have to add this to my stack of cards meant for OWH.

Just Floating By

I found another progressive challenge over at Imagine That. I simply couldn't say no to this adorable penguin. Love the bright fun colors...so much so I had to get the digi papers as well. The June stamp of the month is called Poolside Penguins and the papers are Summer Fun. A great sentiment too for some summer birthdays I have coming up. Now I'm off to link this up to the Imagine That Blog so I'm eligible for the July stamp of the month. Can't wait to see what that will be!!!

Red, White and Blue

I wanted to let you know about the funness happenin' over at the Fresh Brewed Blog. Not only is today day #3 of our new Cutie Bug digi release by Fresh Brewed Designs, but it's also the start of a new challenge. For the next two weeks, show us your red, white and blue! I couldn't let this go by without putting Cutie Bug Flag to use. On our release day this past Monday, I colored Cutie Bug blue...I liked it so much I decided to do the same with this one. I went a little star crazy too, using two fun dies. Join us for our latest challenge, RED, WHITE, AND BLUE over at the Fresh Brewed Blog.

Sweet Christmas

I have been so out of sorts this week, need to find that summer routine. Things run so much smoother when school is in session (shhhh, don't tell my kids I said that!!). Anyway, welcome to our latest challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. We're always so glad to see what you do with our sketches.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Sally Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique. The winner will receive a £10 voucher for the Digi Stamp Boutique store.

I know, you think I'm crazy, but I went with a Christmas image!!! I couldn't resist this cutie Zoe and Christmas Tree. I used some non-holiday paper and these pink felt flowers that were hangin' out on my desk, begging to be used on a project!! Now it's your turn to show off your creativity and join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

I'd like to submit this card to the customer competition at the Digi Stamp Boutique Blog.

Snowflakes, Snowflakes, Everywhere!

We had a wonderful turnout last week at the Holly Jolly Christmas challenge. Keep those beautiful cards comin'! This week our challenge is 3 or more layers. Even though I've moved to the more clean and simple style, layering is right up my alley!!! I'm using an image from our sponsor, Eureka, called Snowman with Wreath. Oh how I adore snowman images, and the fact that I don't need to do much coloring, even better!!! Sure hope you can join us this week for our 3 layer challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Craft Your Passion - 3 or more embellishments
Festive Friday - Photo inspiration
Jingle Belles - Red and green

Cutie Bug is Sad

Today is digi release day at Fresh Brewed Designs and I know you're gonna love these cuties. We have a whole new line-up of Cutie Bugs to share with you.

Here's my card, clean and VERY simple, using the sweet Cutie Bug is Sad image. He's so sad...and that's why I made him blue. This will go in my stash meant for OWH...if I ever get myself together to get a box mailed off to them. As for my background, I started off flicking Hero Arts white ink dauber with a paint brush. As luck would have it, I dropped the brush onto my card and a blob was created! To keep that blob from looking too lonely, I added a few more, on purpose this time. I prefer the flecks of ink but didn't want to waste my card base.

Be sure and join us on our Facebook page. Games and prizes during the week...how fun! Read all about it on the Fresh Brewed Blog.

Hello Sweet Friend

This week at The Outlawz, our clean and simple challenge theme is fruit. Yes, all the yummy fresh fruits are coming in season now (a touch late though due to the harsh winter) and I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I used a Gina K Designs stamp that just by changing the ink color, I've created lemons, limes and oranges. This stamp set is called You're the Sweetest and can be found HERE. My tag was created with an Avery Elle tag die called Simply Tags Everyday. And the sentiment is by W plus 9, Hand Lettered Hello. I took an online card class where the designer placed her tag like this...I liked it so much I decided to copy her. I sure hope you can join in on our fruity fun for the clean and simple challenge over at The Outlawz.

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
A Gem of a Challenge - Gingham ribbon or paper
Brown Sugar - Summer
Stampin With the Dragon - Clean & Simple
Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Anything goes + ribbon
Moving Along With the Times - Clean & Simply

Happy Anniversary

Getting this anniversary card for my brother and his wife done in the nick of time! Just today my Gina K Designs order arrived...how fun going thru everything. The sea gull stamp is actually a freebie, based on the amount of your purchase. It's called Little Things and is fabulous. The sentiment is from a set called All Occasion Tags 2. I also bought the Silhouette cut file but decided just to go with the sentiment. The designer paper is part of their latest Stamp TV kit, Here Comes the Sun. We're just a touch over 2 weeks out from our beach vacation so this stamp set seemed to be the right thing to use! Gotta get it in the mail tomorrow so I won't be late.

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Fussy and Fancy - Things with wings
Mod Squad - Ocean
City Crafter - Birds
Craft Room Challenge - Sun, Sand, Surf

Happy Birthday Wishes

Welcome to the latest and greatest CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. We're asking you to use die cuts. I love using die cuts, I think I use them on every card I make! I wanted to use a few recently purchased items here, that way I don't feel so guilty buying 'em!!! First up my die cut and stamp set is from Reverse Confetti, Label Me to be exact. You can find the die HERE and the stamp set HERE. The sequins are from my stash...always happy to use that up. The background was created with embossing paste and a triangle stencil (sorry, no link for this item, I won it in some blog candy). That layer is popped up onto the white card base. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the linen thread...I bought a whole spool of it, yes, 400 yards, because I use it so much!! We crafters are crazy!!! Hope you can join us this week for some die cutting fun at The Outlawz.

Challenges I'd like to submit my card to include:
Inkspirational - Clean and Simple

Have a Purrfect Day

Thought I would throw in a public service announcement today for my blog post -- June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. Visit your local shelter and give a cat their forever home. You'll be glad you did...and so will your new furry friend.

In honor of adopt a cat month, I decided to create a card using a Fresh Brewed Designs image called Daisy Kitten. I used my Copic markers on her along with my new Wink of Stella pen, giving the inside of the flower just a touch of sparkle. I went with minimal embellishments too, using my sewing machine for that touch of stitching.

Speaking of Fresh Brewed Designs, we're changing things up a bit with our challenges on the Fresh Brewed Blog. Starting this month, we will be having challenges every other week. The first one is Flowers and Lace -- read all about it HERE. Join us, for your chance to win some yummy blog candy just by using a Fresh Brewed Designs image. Fun, fun, fun!!!

It's Coffee O'Clock

Happy Wednesday to you! Yes, it's hump day...HOORAY!!! And that means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. And here it is!!! Another beauty.

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps. They are a favorite of so many of us on the design team! I know I'm one of them! They are offering our winner 7 free images. All I can say to that is good luck narrowing it down to 7!!!

Here's my card, using the fun Scarlette - Coffee O'Clock image. I had to have this digi, it reminds me of so many of my friends and one in particular (yes Heather, I'm talking about you!!!). I added Stickles to my die cut hearts but they didn't photograph very well, so use your imagination. Now it's your turn to join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Merry Christmas Elf

Welcome to our latest challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas - Santa or Elf. We're lucky enough to be sponsored by Bugaboo this week...and you know I love Bugaboo!! Here I used Deacon Christmas - Elf Presents. Keepin' it clean and simple...and really quick because I am still running into life obstacles that are taking away my crafting time! I'm hooked on linen thread now, feathering out the ends on this one for more fun texture. Please join us at Holly Jolly Christmas for our Santa/Elf themed challenge.
