It's Friday, and that means the Wish RAK Featured Bloggers Challenge! I have the wonderful privilege of looking at so many fabulous blogs and picking one for us to use as inspiration as we CASE away! This week's blogger is JBgreendawn and her blog is called Stacy's Memory Triggers. I had a hard time deciding which card to case, because I love 'em all!!! Here is her card: Take a Break. I used a bella image I received via WRAK, colored her in with Copic markers, and even added some sparkle to the flowers on her bed. Even though bella doesn't feel well doesn't mean she can't have some glitz! I used a different embossing folder for the Green galore layer. The other colors I used were Pumpkin pie and Pixie pink. I also added a few brads and the black gingham ribbon. I love casing cards, I really feel inspired!!!

Faith
Finally, kids are back to school and I can have some time to sit down and blog!!!!! We've had snow days and a holiday that means Mom has to find ways to entertain them. It keeps getting harder the older they get.
My card is for the monthly Bible Verse Challenge found on SCS. I used a stamp set by Papertrey Ink called Everyday Blessings (that reminds me, my new PTI order should be arriving in the next day or so!!!!! I am dangerous when it comes to their new releases!!). I stamped the cross in Kiwi kiss and the Bible verse (Hebrews 11:1) in PTI's Perfect Match Dark Chocolate. I then cut it out and embossed it with my new Nestabilities. The next layer is SU's Filigree background (do you remember that one) stamped in Kiwi kiss then sponged around the edges with the same kiwi ink. The narrow strip near the bottom was first stamped with Close to cocoa ink using the Linen background stamp, sponged with the same ink, then paper pierced. And the final layer was stamped with the French Script background in Vintage Creme ink by PTI and sponged with Close to cocoa ink again. The card itself is Chocolate chip and the other color is Apricot appeal -- I seem to pulling out all the things I haven't used in forever lately!!! A few large gold brads and the prima flower finish it off.
Now you know I have to throw in a big WOO HOO for the Steelers here!!!!! We're going to the Super Bowl!!!!!!! Can't wait for the big game!! I'm already planning my menu!!!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!!

Featured Blog - You Warm My Heart
Well a fire is burning in the fireplace so the next best thing to warm me up has got to be some cocoa! Thanks to the wonderful ladies at Wish RAK, Changito cocoa arrived in my mailbox just in time to make this card for the Featured Bloggers Challenge. This week we are checking out Peebsmama's blog seen here: http://www.susansdayoffcreations.blogspot.com/. I cased her card (https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifjGWMvoUqkrKU9UTNjwqrewNC9_nng4oF1oKTQSQU1Kldkt9Zk7_SV_wcaKaROxVd9r1T47FAHqofjQujMOne-360eD1Ym6swIpjqYkQREgSUveuEUApbdYJ1JCy0SIMMUSrfhyphenhyphens_nmo/s1600-h/Mojo69Vdaycat.jpg) for the Mojo sketch 69 challenge. I changed up the image, Embossed background and colors. My foam snowflakes from Michael's ended up looking like daisies when I added the dew drops...oh well. My colors are Pixie pink, Green galore, and Bashful blue. The designer paper is by TAC as is the sentiment. I used the Snow Dots embossing folder, white gel pen to add some dots, and dimensionals to add some pop.
Thanks for stopping by! Congratulations Susan for being the Featured Blogger, it was great fun looking thru your blog. Oh, and if I may say, LET'S GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!

Christmas Thank Yous
Let me tell you what, winter is hitting us hard!! I've been out in sub-zero temps shoveling snow like there's no tomorrow!!! I can't wait for spring! I am so far behind with my stamping because by evening I am so exhausted I can't stay awake long enough to get cards done!!! This card is actually one of ten Christmas thank yous I had made for the Christmas card challenge (better get it posted on SCS before January is over). I love snowmen so of course I decided to use one of MANY that I have! This cute guy is from Stampendous and is colored up with Copic markers and a bit of Stickles. Shame on me because I forget who the designer paper is by!! Colors include Bordering blue, Kiwi kiss, Riding hood red and Rose romance (who remembers that color?!). Now all I need to do is write them out and get them mailed!!!!

Times Fun...
when you're having flies OR getting to stamp for fun!!!!! I made this card the other day just because -- alright, this stamp set from Close to my Heart hasn't seen ink yet and I was feeling guilty, that's the real reason!! I found the designer paper and the embossed layer of blue in my scrap bin and took it from there. I put my sewing machine to work also -- I work at a karate school and sew patches, hems, etc on the karate uniforms. Well, I'm resigning from this position in an effort to eliminate added stressors in my life. That means I will be using my sewing machine for fun now, like cards!! Have a great Sunday, and GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!

WRAK Featured Blogger Challenge Debut
That's right, there's a new challenge debuting today called the Featured Blogger's Challenge. Our first blog to be inspired by is Collette's (aka heavensent): http://collette-heavensent.blogspot.com/. I cased this card of her's: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUmnbIsS9VBEYvjzBZ_TqeTc1P9hmyYSKU3sgRyfuSgvkxAis6KoDQBJd2vtyLb8DMsbu98aSHDrZevCtodHZpBDPbiK_tfO9ICfzi2wGSy0Ad_JXYeqVISemor-hkRp74byBP92c4uoVy/s1600-h/FS98+12-22+cgl.jpg. The image I received thru WRAK and used the faux silk technique on it. I covered the image with glue stick then a crumpled up piece of tissue paper. I then sponged over it with Creamy caramel ink and it really brought out the wrinkles nicely. I changed the colors up too - Not quite navy, Creamy caramel, Bravo burgundy, White, Designer paper from scrap bin. Instead of the fancy border Collette had on her card, I used ribbon. I too added tiny pearls to the corners of the scallop layer and some sewing (my machine wasn't behaving very well though!!). The right hand corner looked empty so I put in some paper piercing. Instead of a prima and brad I added a flower button.
What a beautiful blog Collette!!! I had a fun time going through it!

Hello Owlies!
Hello hello everyone!!! We've been having some nasty weather the past few days. Sure makes driving a little tricky.
Don't you simply love these owls by Stampendous!!! So sweet! I had them colored for some time now and the right challenge came along to use them in. This is from the WRAK New Years challenge to use a sketch and make a miss you card. The inside sentiment says just that too. I've been working away on some scraps of designer paper, I think it's Chatter Box. The SU colors I used are Bravo burgundy, Kiwi kiss, and River rock. The verbage is by TAC, the embellishment by Close to my Heart, and the eyes are shiny thanks to Crystal Effects. Thanks for stopping by, stay warm!!

Happy Cupcake Day!
I haven't been able to upload all day! What a pain! Anyway, here's a birthday card I made with some images I had received from Wish RAK. I totally adore Cupcakeabella! And the sentiment from Lockhart Stamps was perfect! I had wanted to add stitching to my card but didn't realize I hadn't done it until AFTER the card was all put together!!!!!! Oh well, maybe the next one!!! Bella is brought to life with Copic markers (don't you love the yummy chocolate cupcake with pink icing?!). I found the designer paper in my scrap bin. The felt flowers are by K & Company and have been sitting at my work space for several months, just begging to be used. I popped a rhinestone brad thru the small flower then wished I didn't, feel like it's almost a little too much. Oh well, like I said, maybe the next one!!!

It's Your Day Mom!
A challenge to make a birthday card for Mom with an image she would like AND to use the color combo Taken with teal, Lovely lilac and So saffron. No purples are definitely not my favorite, so less is more in my book. I chose this beautiful bloom that I received from WRAK because I know my Mom loves flowers. I used my Copic markers to color in the flower and bee and added a touch of glitter with a Spica glitter pen to the bee's wings. More glitter is included with the brads by Making Memories. I used the Textile embossing folder on the Saffron layer. Despite needing to use lilac, I like how this one turned out! I may become a purple person yet!!!

With Love
This is going to be a quick post as I'm trying to get rid of a migraine - even the hum of the computer is bothering me.
This is a Card for the Troops - an anniversary card a soldier could sent home to their spouse. I wanted to be sure it could be sent home to a husband or wife. I adore these Bee Buddies by Stampendous - so cute and easy to color. Their wings got a touch of sparkle thanks to Stickles. I remembered to do some sewing (often I'll get a card all done then say to myself, darn, I wanted to add some sewing!). Colors are Bordering blue (I don't use it enough), white, Pretty in pink and Regal rose. The designer paper was from my scrap bin.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to lie down in a dark quiet place -- sure hope I can find one!

Think Spring With Riley
Happy Friday! I'm slowly working on posting all my cards I've made over the past few days for the Wish RAK Cards for the Troops challenges. Cards we make are shipped to one central person who then ships them to our heroes overseas. This way the soldiers have handmade cards to send home to family and friends.
This challenge was to make an Easter card. I realized that I don't have many Easter images but I had received Riley from WRAK so I was in business. Colored him in with Copic markers then cut him out and embossed with my Nestabilities. Darn if I can remember the name of the designer paper by Cosmo Cricket (something like Hey Sugar??), but I used it for my color inspiration - Bravo burgundy, White, Regal rose (this layer was Cuttlebug embossed), and Summer sunrise by Papertrey Ink. That is the color of grosgrain ribbon I used through the aged copper hardware frame as well. "Think Spring" is from a set of words by The Angel Company. A couple of dew drops and this one is ready to be shipped! I'll be posting more over the next couple of days.

Hugs To You!
I'll be posting a lot of cards that I'm making these past few days for the Wish RAK Cards for the Troops challenge. Challenges are posted for cards we send to the troops for them to in turn send home to family members and friends. It's a great thing to do for the soldiers as well as use up the millions upon millions of images I have received over the years from the very generous members of Wish RAK.
This challenge was for a Thinking of You card using the most favorite thing you ever received thru WRAK. Well, that's a toughie, because everything I've received is a fave. I ended up with the Tier of Treats image by Stampendous. I put Crystal Effects on the cherries and strawberries then a pinch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The designer paper by Cloud9 is shiny and embossed. I took the colors out of that paper for the card - Bravo burgundy, Rose red, and Pretty in pink. More favorites that I use on my cards a lot include sewing, scallops, embossing, ribbon and dimensionals (each of the three circles with the sentiment, by TAC, is popped up!).
Keep comin' back, I'll have more to share.
