Digital Papers and a Birthday Giveaway!!

Yes, you read that right, I'm having a giveaway for my birthday!! Be sure and read this entire post to find out more details!! Because first up, I have two cards to share using digital papers and sentiments from Imagine That Digistamp. I have been seeing so many one sheet wonder cards and templates on Pinterest that I was inspired. Mind you, I only got two done but I have plenty of paper left over from the three designs that I printed from the Blossoms n' Bugs paper pack. All I did was add a sentiment and a few brads and my two cards are done. This sentiment came from the set Ladybugs. I'm find myself always in need of birthday cards!

For this card the sentiment came from the set Frog Boots/Pansies Planter. I recently made a few cards with this angle layer and I think I'm hooked!! Both cards so quick and easy.

Thanks for hangin' around till the end so I can tell you about my birthday giveaway!! Kris, who is the owner, artist, and very generous lady, has allowed me to offer to one winner a $10 gift voucher for the Imagine That Digistamp store!!! All you have to do is comment on THIS POST for your chance to win! I will announce the winner next Wednesday, September 7th at 3pm EDT both here on my blog as well as the Imagine That Digistamp blog, Creative Playground. Good luck!

I thought this would be perfect for a first car, just got my license, etc. type of celebration! Now it's your turn to show us what you've got with the latest sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Just Chickin' In

Okay, life has settled down a bit in the Anderson household! Enough that I was able to get into my stamp room and get a card done!! Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Anything Goes challenge over at Stamp Art Papel. I had printed off this image and paper from the Chicken Color set and figured now was a good time to get it on a card!! Now hopefully I can get back into my stamp room this week to get caught up on a lot of things!!! Fingers crossed.

Happy Birthday

We've got a new sketch for you to try over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Don't ya just love it?!!! I know I do!!

And here's what I came up with, using one of my absolute favorite color combinations of yellow, black/gray and white. So as not to take away from the fun gingham pattern paper in the background, I used vellum for my big circle layer. The paper is from Paper Trey Ink and can be found HERE. The sentiment, from Gina K Designs, is heat embossed and part of the Made With Love stamp set. A fun and fabulous sketch for sure! Hope you can join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I Thank My Lucky Stars for You

We have a new clean and simple challenge over at The Outlawz -- Embossing. I thought how awesome since emboss resist was one of the challenges from Camp Create at the MFT Blog! I'm trying really hard to play along in all the challenges because there are some wonderful prizes up for grabs!! I started out white heat embossing the Star Background from My Favorite Things onto watercolor paper. I then watercolored 3 different distress inks on (peacock feathers, twisted citron, mowed lawn). That in and of itself is a little crazy since I am not a big fan of watercoloring!!! I added my sentiment (Count the Stars), embossing the word stars. A few sequins and I'm done!! Another camp badge earned!!!

Just for You

I'm slowly playing along with Camp Create over at the MFT Blog. For Day 2, yes, I'm that far behind, the challenge was Ombre. I started with a stencil from Hero Arts, sponging my ink heavy along the bottom then drawing it up to the top with a lighter hand. I then cut out the panel using Blueprints 18 from My Favorite Things. The flowers are also from My Favorite Things, Modern Blooms stamp set and dies. The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink, Just For You Mini Stamp Set. A little twine and a few sequins (finished off with a dot of Stickles in the center) and my card is done. Now on to the next challenge!
And here's the badge I earned for completing this challenge. There are prizes to be won along the way so fingers crossed I can get all the cards done!!

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Close to Nature
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Pile It On - Make your own background

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Yes, I know it's August, but I can't help myself, I enjoy making Christmas cards! I've been having problems finding time to get into my stamp room so today it was a "let's make a quick card" kind of day. I found this adorable Christmas Bird Trio image from Imagine That Digistamp in my stack of already printed images so I went with it. All I then needed to do was print off some digital paper which I did from the the Merry & Bright pack also from Imagine That Digistamp. Initially I thought I would keep it in blues and white but thought a little pink and green mixed in with the blue would be more fun. I love using non-traditional holiday colors.

We've got a nasty thunderstorm going on right now so I'd better shut things down. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Camp Create - Monochromatic

I thought I would try to play along with Camp Create being featured on the My Favorite Things Blog.  The goal is to participate in their craft sessions each day and earn your Camp Create badges!

Yesterday's craft was Monochromatic. I went with aqua tone with just a hint of white here and there to sort of break up the blues. I used the Flashy Florals stamp set and dies along with the Hello die originally released with the Flashy Florals card kit. I die cut two "hellos" in white and one in teal for some layered dimension. I also allowed some of the white to show to help accent the sentiment. For the background, a piece of medium aqua was initially stamped in coordinating ink and the Scattered Surface Background then die cut with the help of the Stitched Diagonal Cover Up Companion. I die cut a second one from my lightest aqua, replacing the inside pieces as you can see. A few enamel dots were added and my card is complete.

Looks like I've earned my badge for Day 1!! Now to get going on the next challenge.

A Beautiful Birthday

A new clean and simple challenge has been posted at The Outlawz, and our theme is Monochromatic. I started off sponging a piece of white cardstock in shades of pink, cutting off a strip as well as die cutting out this butterfly from Life is Beautiful die collection by Paper Trey Ink. The solid black layer under the pink butterfly I covered in my Spectrum Noir black glitter pen - love the sparkle. The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set Life is Beautiful. I sure hope you can join us this week at The Outlawz for some clean and simple monochromatic fun.

Ahh, Summer!

Today starts the new challenge over at the Creative Playground, and our theme is Signs of Summer. Hard to believe school will be starting soon...to me that means the end of summer. But while it's still warm and sunny, let's celebrate!!! I used the adorable set Pool Girl from Imagine That Digistamp. I love the bright fun colors of this pre-colored image so I went with it for my papers and embellishments. Now I sure hope you can join us this month for our fun summer challenge at the Creative Playground.

What's the Scoop?

YUM, it's ice cream!!!!! Raise your hand if you loooooove ice cream! I have both of my hands up!! My card totally makes use of 3 different sets from Imagine That Digistamps - the ice cream cone comes from Ice Cream Treats, the sentiment is from Ice Cream Sentiments and the paper is from the paper pack Ice Cream Parlour. If you notice, this sentiment actually reads "so, what's the scoop?" Well, I printed it off a bit too big so I cut off the word "so". Guess I'm using some creative liberties with that one!!! The cherry on top of the ice cream cone is covered in wink of stella...love the shimmer. Now I need to hit the grocery store for some ice cream!!!!!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

It's time for a new challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Check out this fun new lovely for you to try!!!

The wonderful Sally Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique is sponsoring us for our two week challenge. It's always fun to see what new sweet images she has come up with!!

Here's my card, using the fabulous pre-colored set Simply for Christmas. Yes, I'm still on a Christmas card kick!! And pairing this sketch up with these images will give me six cards for the holiday!! Can't beat that! Sure hope you can join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

New Release at Bugaboo

Today is new release day at Bugaboo...so check out this beauty, Floral Doodles. I colored it up with my Copic markers then added some shimmer with my wink of stella pen. I also did a bit of a reverse spotlighting technique...or whatever you call it when you totally mess up the way you colored something and have to cover it up or else start all over again (which wasn't an option!!). Life has been a little crazy here at the Anderson household so I have to make do with what I've got!!!!! Hahaha! Be sure and check out this lovely new release over at the Bugaboo store.

Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge

August 1st...okay, how did that happen?!!! Summer is just flying by! And being the first of the month, a new Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge has started at the Doodle Pantry Blog. Sure hope you can join us! I used from Doodle Pantry the adorable Lemon Ants. I have a bad habit of printing off digis and paper then put them in my "I'll get to 'em later" pile. The pattern paper on my card is digital, from Doodle Pantry I'm 99% sure, but I just don't know what set!!! I'll look thru the shop again and see if I can find it. In the meantime, I hope you can join our Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog.

THANKS...

What an honor, I'm now a member of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge design team!!! I love their sketches, always a great starting off point for when I need some inspiration! Check out the latest one, don't ya love it?!!

And here's what I made with it!! I sponged some ink onto a piece of white cardstock, die cut the pattern using the Dotted Scallops Cover Up from Lil' Inker Designs. Hehehe, looks like I have my scallops upside down!!!!! Oh well, always keep things interesting! I then used the stamp set Pineapple Panache and the coordinating die, doing the rock & roll method on the fruit. A fun sketch that I hope you'll give it a try!!! See you over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
