Home for the Holidays

We've got a new CAS challenge that started today over at The Outlawz. We've all heard the song "I'll be Home for Christmas" so we want to know how do you travel home for the holidays. We travel by car to both my Mom's house and my in-laws'. This image is from our sponsor this month Deedee's Digis, and it's called Classics. Using the color version of digis is the only way to go for me!! Talk about a time saver! I hope you can join us for our transportation challenge over at The Outlawz. Be sure and keep it Clean & Simple.

A Colorful Happy Holiday

It's a color challenge this week at Catch the Bug. And what fun colors they are!!!

I've gotta admit, when I printed off the colors, the blues came out more on the blue side instead of the blue/green I see now! Forgive me!! Anyway, I used the adorable AKV Christmas - Stocking Boy from Bugaboo Stamps. I love his big smile, striped pajamas and hat!!!

Wanted to be sure you saw our Christmas Chaos begins December 5th. The week will be filled with loads of fun challenges and of course, prizes! Be sure and join us!!!

And if you need some new images from Bugaboo, check this out, the entire store is 50% off!!! How fabulous!!! Have a wonderful weekend.

Build Me a Snowman

Do I love snowmen...but I think I've said that a few hundred times here already!!! This card is a reminder of our Build Me a Snowman challenge going on over at the Fresh Brewed Blog. I used the adorable Snow in Love image from Fresh Brewed Designs along with the If Kisses Were Snowflakes sentiment. It's hard to capture the sparkle in a photo, but the row of hearts are covered in it thanks to my Wink of Stella pen. I hope you can join us this week at the Fresh Brewed Blog for our Build Me a Snowman challenge.

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo

It's Friday and that means a new freebie over at Bugaboo Stamps. Be sure and scoop up Wee One Angel Boy Jump Stars to add to your collection. He is such a cutie. Check out what the rest of the Design Team did with this image on the blog Catch the Bug. Be sure and come back tomorrow for our new Saturday challenge too.

Happy "Owl"idays

Kris from Imagine That recently released so very adorable sets including this one, Owl With Robin. Talk about sweet, sweet, sweet!! Robins around here have decided to stick around for winter instead of flying south. Crazy with all the cold and snow we get! I used one of the digital papers included in the set. The sentiment is soooooo cute!

Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you, a little early, a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Let's Build a Snowman

It's the last Wednesday of the month so it's time to pull out a sketch from the vault and revisit it here at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

You are so gonna want to join us this week!! Not only do we have a great blast from the past sketch, but we also have Deedee's Digis as our sponsor. Take a look because there's a major sale going on, 75% off everything in the shop!!! Told ya it was major!

Perhaps you'd be interested in this image from the set Snow Angel. I love it because not only is it a snowman but also because there's digital papers included in this set. And I adore this sentiment too! Sure do hope you can join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Embossing

A new challenge has started today over at Holly Jolly Christmas -- embossing. My card uses one of our sponsor's images, Frosty Stars from Sami Stamps. Yep, I love snowmen so of course I had to use this image!!! I used two different embossing folders, stars and snowflakes. The embossed cardstock layers are shimmery, adding a nice touch but very difficult to photograph. I sure hope you can join us over the next two weeks at Holly Jolly Christmas for our embossing challenge.

CAS Thankful

Our CAS challenge this week at The Outlawz is to create a card of what we are thankful for. I used from Deedee's Digis, our sponsor, Pilgrim Owls. The sentiment is perfect, letting the recipient know that I am thankful for them!! I thought this owl was adorable, making me also thankful for pie!! Hahaha!!! I hope you can join us to share your thankful project at The Outlawz, clean and simple style of course.

Warm Thanksgiving Wishes

We have a So Thankful Challenge going on over at the Fresh Brewed Blog and here's my card. I went the Thanksgiving route because I simply adore this Fresh Brewed Designs image, Grace Pilgrim. It will be the four of us for Thanksgiving, we pick Phillip up some day next week. Classes keep getting canceled for him so I'm not sure exactly which day we'll be bringing him home. I told him I started making my Christmas cookies and he can't wait to try 'em...and take some back to college with him I'm sure!! I sure hope you can join us at the Fresh Brewed Blog for our So Thankful Challenge.

Hey There

Welcome to our latest challenge over at Miss Rach's challenge blog - ORANGE. This is the freebie found on Miss Rach's blog that you can use for our challenge - Fox Friend. I colored mine up with Copic markers then raided my scrap pile for this piece of orange pattern paper. A clean and simple card, just the way I like it.

Giving Thanks

Instead of posting to my blog, I really should be going to bed I am that tired. So this will be short and sweet!! My card is for the Saturday challenge going on over at Catch the Bug. Our theme is Giving Thanks. I decided to stay with the idea of Thanksgiving so I used this adorable Bugaboo image, Turtle Thanksgiving. Talk about a cutie!!

Welcome Little One

Imagine That is sponsoring the Baby Card challenge over at Robyn's Fetish. I used this adorable image from the Angel Bear set. Is he not adorable?!!! Yes, I used the color version and yes, the pattern paper is from my scrap pile. I think I'm becoming predictable!!! Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Our sponsor this week is Mary Ellen from Dearie Dolls. Most of her images are free so take a moment and browse her site. I know you'll find some that will fit your needs.

Like this one I used called Snowman Christmas. She has so many adorable snowman images it was difficult narrowing it down to just one!! I love the addition of the cute little bluebirds in this one. Sure hope you can join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Ribbon & Pearls

It's nice to have our power back on!! The house smells really good though with all the candles that were burning. This should teach me a lesson not to wait until the last minute to get my cards posted...but then again, probably not!! I seem to work best under pressure!!

This is my card for our latest challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas, Ribbons and Pearls. I used from Eureka Stamps, one of our sponsors, Bethlehem With Verse. I used post-it tape to secure my image down and colored it in with distress inks. When I pulled up the tape, it left a residue along the bottom black. The more I tried to remove the residue, the worse it got, so I just cut out some black cardstock hills and adhered them down. I hope you can join us over the next two weeks for our ribbon and pearls challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Casing Christmas

I'm slowing playing along with the Casing Christmas Challenges goin' on over at Stamp Nation. I did some blending with distress inks then die cut out the circle. Then I used white embossing paste and a stencil for the falling snow. Unfortunately the embossing paste picked up some of the black distress ink so now my snow is gray:(  Moving on to the next goof, I finished up my card, took pictures, and then and only then did I realize I glued down my deer wrong!!! I wanted the lighter shade of ink facing down and the darker night sky on top. Well, can't change it now that's for sure!! It's still going in my pile of Christmas cards to be mailed out this year!

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Crafting With Dragonflies - Let it Snow
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Playing With Twine
Crafty Catz - Winter
Creative Corner - Christmas (No red and green)
Creative Knockouts - Lace/Twine/Ribbon
A Snowflakes Promise - Christmas/Winter Theme
City Crafter - Getting Ready for Christmas

Thinking of You

We have a new CAS challenge going on over at The Outlawz, and I'm the hostess this week. To get us ready for Black Friday, I'm challenging everyone to shop their stash for an item that hasn't been used in a very long time to make their clean & simple project this week. I used two stamps sets for the first time ever...Paper Smooches Calico was used to create my background and the  sentiment is from Hero Arts. I am using this card as my submission for the Share Handmade Kindness campaign on Jennifer McGuire's blog (it was from one of her videos that I did the background). I will be popping this card into the mail for a friend who, even though we have had our ups and downs, I want her to know I've been thinking about her.

Feel Better

It's time for a new challenge over at Miss Rach's Challenge Blog. This week our theme is Brown Paper. Perfect for someone who loves the color brown!! I did break it up a little bit though with some red and yellow. This is the fun freebie you get to play with, PJ Bear. He made me think how perfect for a get well card. I decided to add some wonky stitching as my embellishment...how fun! Now it's your turn to show us what you can do with PJ Bear or any other Miss Rach image and brown paper.

Anything Goes Challenge

It's time for the Anything Goes challenge over at Catch the Bug. I adore snowmen, and Jodie has soooo many fabulous ones at Bugaboo. This is Snowman Broom, and that sweet little bird really tops this one off for me!! I dove into my scrap pile and came out with these two papers...perfect!! I've been making a lot of Christmas cards with layers of black lately. Love the pop it gives to whatever is layered on top of it!! Join us at Catch the Bug for our Anything Goes challenge this week, some Bugaboo goodies are up for grabs.

Let's Be Thankful

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids, and their theme is Happy Holidays. I decided to make Thanksgiving be my holiday to be happy about!! I went with the Doodle Pantry set Let Us Be Thankful...it's got all those glorious fall colors that I simply love. I hope you get a chance to join in the Happy Holidays challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids for your chance at some Doodle Pantry winnings.

Pumpkin Kitties

Having two kitties of my own, of course I fell in love with this newly released set, Pumpkin Kitties, from Imagine That! Yep, you guessed it, I used the color version, merging the sentiment onto the banner. The pattern papers are scraps -- yes, I have A LOT of scraps!! And the funny thing is, that pile never seems to get any smaller!! Would you like to win your very own set of Pumpkin Kitties? Well head on over to the Imagine That Blog for your chance!

With Gratitude

We have a new challenge going on over at the Fresh Brewed Blog, and our theme is Pumpkins. I found the image from Fresh Brewed Designs called The Great Pumpkin (reminds me of Linus out in the pumpkin patch waiting patiently for the Great Pumpkin to arrive) in my stack of already printed off images. I knew I had to challenge myself to also find some paper scraps as well...and I did. I hope you can join us this week over at the Fresh Brewed Blog for our pumpkin challenge.

Elephant Christmas Tree

Imagine my surprise coming to my blog this morning and my Freebie Friday post for Catch the Bug hadn't posted! Better investigate...well hmmmmm, guess it helps to schedule it for the correct day!!!

Happy Fall

Happy Fall! Today is far from fall weather...and I'm okay with that!!! The sun is shining bright and warm with temps in the 70's. I'll take it!!!

One of the things I love about fall are the colors. Pair them with this cute little squirrel from Imagine That called Humphrey's Sunflower and a card is born!! I used, also from Imagine That, one of the digital papers from Fabulous Fall. A fun card to make, and quick, especially with the color version of this sweet image.

Have a warm and wonderful day. It's hump day after all!!!

Christmas Casing

A fun week of challenges is happening over at Stamp Nation - we are casing cards of the design team and creating our own Christmas cards. I cased a card made by Catherine herself...how fun!! I smooshed my watercolor paper into watered down distress ink to create my background. Can you believe it, I USED PURPLE!!! The poinsettia die is by Paper Smooches and the vellum sentiment is from a Stamp of Approval set by The Ton. I'm having fun and can't wait to get goin' on day #2. But the fact that it's after 1am, I think I'll go to bed instead.

Christmas Ornaments

Welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Check out the latest sketch we have for you to try. Once again, it's a goodie!

We have a favorite as our sponsor this week, Bugaboo Stamps. The winner this week will receive 7 free images!!! How wonderful is that?!!!

I'm hooked on making Christmas cards and the moment I saw this new image, I knew I had to have it! This is Christmas Ornaments, and if you hurry, you'll get it at half price!! I immediately wanted to go gold and silver with this so I did the best I could with the Copic markers I had. My papers are definitely gold and silver but hard to tell as I couldn't get a good pic. I hope you can join us this week to try out our latest challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Giving Thanks

This is my third post for today so be sure and scroll down to see what else is goin' on! A new month means a new digital challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog. It's an anything goes challenge and any vendor as long as it's digital. I mixed digital with actual stamping for mine. First up, I used Charlie Harvest from Doodle Pantry. He is such a cutie!! For my background, I stamped various leaves from the Quilted: Autumn Stamp Set by Paper Trey Ink. I even did a little rock & roll technique on some of them. Super simple...exactly what I like!! Now join us this month for the Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog.

Give Thanks

Being the first of the month (how did that happen), it's time to share the new Digi of the Month from Imagine That. This stunning set is called Harvest Basket and talk about a real beauty. Yes, I used the color version. I love the convenience pre-colored digis provide. Create with this set and post it HERE on the Imagine That blog and you will receive next month's Digi of the Month free!! How fun.

With Gratitude

Our CAS challenge this week at The Outlawz is all about saying "thank you" to our Veterans or first responders. These brave individuals put their lives on the line every time they are called out to "work." I used a pre-colored digi from Doodle Pantry called Patriotic Eagle. I love bald eagles and had the joyous occasion of seeing one soaring above us while driving home from vacation. I couldn't believe it!! But my husband, who should have been keeping his eyes on the road, spotted it too! I used the digital papers you get in this set also...they're fabulous. Hope you can join us this week for our Clean and Simple challenge over at The Outlawz.
