Love is Sweet

Welcome to our monthly Clearly Inspired Challenge from Clear Dollar Stamps. "Love is Sweet" is our challenge theme for you this month. And what is more lovable than a sweet little bear??!! I used the newly released stamp set Heart Hugs. I embossed him onto WCP and used my Tombow markers and blender pen...love this technique!!! I wanted to make him a honey gold bear to remind me of my childhood favorite, Winnie the Pooh. I still have "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", on VHS tape!!! My kids are 12 and 15 and obviously don't watch it anymore, but I will never part with this tape!!!!! I was lucky enough to get to use Ethan on my card! With two boys of my own I am always drawn to the guy stamps! I needed a masculine birthday card, so what good timing! I used the We R Memory Keepers MVP designer paper cause it screams all boy to me. Hope I didn't ruin the masculinity of the card by sewing on it!!! LOL!!! The ticket is a die from PTI that I've had but never used...same with the coordinating stamp set! This is something I plan on focusing on this new year, using what I've got!!! A Freshly Brewed Sketch

Isn't this a fabulous sketch?!! It's the latest challenge over at Freshly Brewed Challenges this week. Our fearless leader and owner of Fresh Brewed Designs sure keeps coming up with some fabulous ideas to keep the mojo flowing!!!

On my card I used the Sweet on You image with sentiment. Isn't it yummy!!! LOL!!! I even added some Crystal Effects to the strawberries for some added shine. I've been on a "brights" kick recently and had to pull out my Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely papers. And another perfect bow, thanks to my Bow Easy. It's Your Day Dad!

What, I have my Dad's birthday card done already? But his birthday isn't until mid January!!! What has come over me!!! My attempt at being organized I guess...let's see how long this trend lasts!!! LOL!!! Anyway, the stamp set I used is PTI's "Wreath for all Seasons" and the sentiment is by TAC. I'm submitting this card to two challenges:

First I used the sketch from Critter Sketch Challenges. They post every Monday so be sure to check 'em out. My card measures 4.25" square, a fun little size that I enjoy making.

And as for the color combo, I went with Picture Perfect Creations challenge of Tempting turquoise, Always artichoke, Chocolate chip and Tangerine tango. They too post every Monday some fab combinations!!!

I have to make this a short post, the kids are due home from school any minute now, and they always come home hungry!!!!! See you tomorrow.

CAS - Can I Get Away With It?!

I love the sketch over at the Clean & Simple Sunday Challenge so of course I wanted to play along. Now CAS is a real challenge for me so I hope this card fits the definition. Yes, I added sewing and popped some parts up, but I didn't add the ribbon and embellishments that I normally would. So yes, for me, this is Clean and Simple!! From Clear Dollar Stamps I used the Blooming Bouquet Dies and Stamps. The sentiment is from Tiny Scriptures 2. Thanks for stopping by today.

For my card, I used the Tabs & Tags Die set as well as the Tabs & Tags Additions Stamp set. I wanted to try my hand at some paper weaving too - I definitely could use some practice, that's for sure!!! A quick and simple card, once I got the weaving done!!!!!
