This is for March's monthly Bible Verse challenge as well as today's color challenge on SCS. Nothing like waiting till the last day of the month to get it done! Anyway, the verse is from the Scripture Collection 2 by Our Daily Bread Designs. I stamped it in Chocolate chip on Very vanilla. The hummingbird (ours should be returning in a little over a month now!!) is by Papertrey Ink, a set called Birds of a Feather. He is stamped in Riding Hood Red, cut out, and popped up. Pink pirouette completes the color challenge and can be found in the designer paper. The red layer was embossed using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. A photo corner punch and several brads finishes it off. The wide satin ribbon I wanted to put on somewhere on this card is still sitting on my desk, feeling left out and abandoned! That's what happens when you keep a messy desk!!!

A Card For Amy - Just Because
I made this quick card last night to send to a friend, just to let her know I'm thinking of her. I found quite a stack of card kits I had cut out for past stamp camps so I've set a goal for myself -- use 'em!!!!!!!! I have no idea what the original card looked like with this "kit" but it was fun making it into something new. I just got this Papertrey Ink set called Damask Designs that I stamped using their Raspberry Fizz ink. I think the cardstock is Pixie pink. I added the strip of white embossed scrap I found on my desk and layered it with some black. The sentiment is stamped with black, punched out with the large oval punch, and layered with an oval scallop from a scrap of raspberry fizz cardstock, yep, you guessed it, I found on my desk. I never seem to clean off my desk in between projects!!!!! Several things are popped up with dimensionals and a touch of black gingham ribbon was also added. Now to write a note and drop it in the mail before heading out to work! I think she'll like it!!
Busy weekend -- I had another stamp camp yesterday (and one more scheduled for next Sunday!!) that everyone enjoyed. Unfortunately I forgot to take a key ingredient for one of the projects they were to make, I felt like such an idiot!! They plan on holding another one so they can learn to make the cute little treat box then. I've also been busy trying to get my March Christmas cards done for the monthly challenge - only three more to go!! I'll post a picture once I get them done! Have a great Monday!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #35
The Color Throwdown Challenge this week was Purely Pomegranate, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss. I had my doubts at first, but really like how the colors look together! I used another Papertrey Ink set, Out on a Limb, as well as a new Clear Dollar Stamps set called Words of Sympathy. It's hard to see but I used SU's Filigree background stamp on the tangerine layer. The designer paper is Fall Flowers and although it's olive, I think it looks good with the Kiwi kiss. Three layers of sewing was done with matching thread. The new SU oval scallop punch was used behind the large oval punch out of the words which was then popped up on the branch layer. I realized after I took the photo I had wanted to add a touch of sparkle to flowers which I will do later with Stickles. Love those self-adhesive pearls by K & Company -- too bad they don't make them in one size in bulk...I would buy them in a heartbeat!!

Wow, Two Days in a Row!
Can you believe it, two cards and two blog postings in a row!!!!!! Well I needed yet another thank you card and wanted to pull out some of my Papertrey Ink stamps. Can you tell I have a new order coming any day now so I'm in the PTI mood. This set is called Green Thumb and so super sweet. I used Raspberry Fizz, Black and White cardstock along with a touch of black gingham ribbon. I really like SU's eyelet border punch, so elegant. I cased this card from someone on SCS, too bad I don't remember who that someone is!!!
I'm off to my son's Open House for his classroom today. This is my youngest who has a form of autism and is non-verbal. He uses a communication device (we call it his "Voice Box") to communicate. They are putting on a play for the parents so he will be using his box, I can't wait!! He is so good with the device, touching the screen and finding what he wants to say! When I try to use it he pushes me aside and finds right away what I'm looking for! What a stinker!!

What a Bad Blogger Am I
I feel like I need to get my routine of stampin' and bloggin' back into gear. It's been forever since I've done both!! Anyway, my trip to Las Vegas went very well! I tested for my 4th degree Black Belt but now have to wait 4 - 5 weeks to hear the results!!!! That hasn't stopped me from running out to the mailbox just in case they got them done early!!! My fingers are crossed! It was wonderful seeing my friend again who lives out there - she was my taxi, tour guide and biggest fan! Thanks again Mardie!!!!!
Before I left, a family at the karate school I teach at made me some homemade cards to say good luck. And, tucked inside one of them was a Dairy Queen gift card to go celebrate after I got home!! This thank you card is for them. The adorable bee and sentiment is from Papertrey Ink called Honey Bee. Cardstock colors include Chocolate chip, of course, Sahara sand, River rock, Mellow moss and DSP by Memory Box. A very simple layout and minimal embellishments, perfect for mailing.
Thanks for stopping by. I will let you know when the results of my testing come in the mail. If I pass, you may hear me screaming before reading about it on my blog!!! Have a wonderful day!

Talk About Stress!!
I have not stamped or blogged in what seems an eternity. Tomorrow I leave for Las Vegas to test for my Fourth Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo!!! The stress involved with training is extraordinary!! Lots of physical workouts, sore joints and muscles! By the time I get home from work, eat dinner at 9:30pm, I lay down on the couch to watch TV and promptly fall asleep. No time for stamping!! Hopefully soon I will get back into it.
