Always

Aren't these colors gorgeous together?!! Dark grey (basic grey), Light grey (going grey) and Bright yellow (yoyo yellow). I stamped the flowers from Both Way Blossoms, watercolored the flowers first with More mustard, then colored them in with my sponge dauber in yoyo yellow. A little old olive on the stem and leaves and the flowers were done. Linen was then stamped over top and the edges sponged, all with Going grey. The bottom layer of basic grey under the flowers is paper pierced and the right edge distressed. The going grey layer is stamped with French Script and Weathered background stamps. A little ribbon (what a yummy suede feel it has), Define Your Life stamped and both it and the flowers are popped up with dimensionals. 1/2" circles are punched out and the large silver brads added. Again, I had a lot of fun with this one!

Happy Bella!

And I'm happy with the way this one turned out!! The only thing I would have done differently is stamp the Polka Dot background in Pixie pink ink instead of Regal rose.

This is for a WRAK challenge to use SC#84. I have received so many wonderful Bella images thru Wish RAK I always seem to go for them for these challenges! They are so much fun to color and put on to a card!! The colors I used were Purely pomegranate, Going grey, Pretty in pink and white. The DP is by Paper Salon and of course the gorgeous ribbon is SU's pomegranate wide satin yummy ribbon! It's difficult to see in the photo, but the flowers on her car and tires are glittered with Stickles and the headlights are shiny with Crystal Effects. Fun, fun, fun!!

Black and White and Pink All Over

I can't believe I finally felt like stamping!! Seems like it has been forever!
This card is for a Wish RAK challenge to use black and white for the cardstock and ink while your touch of color came from the embellishments. I cracked into an unused stamp set - Nature Stamps by Rhonna Farrer and Autumn Leaves. The designer paper is by Doodlebug Designs (scraps of course) while the pink ribbon and brads is from a very generous lady thru WRAK. I attempted faux cross-stitching along the right side of the black strip, but my gel pen had other ideas -- like not working!!!!!

Too Sick For Words!

And too sick for stamping, if you can believe that! I felt sick New Years day and it only got worse, to the point I ended up going to the doctor (and that's saying something because I rarely go to the doctor). It ends up I have strep throat, something I never had as a kid! Well, let me tell you, I've been kicked in the pants somethin' fierce by it and just now feel like doing something other than lay on the couch.

This card is for the monthly Christmas card challenge I do on SCS. I ended up making my holiday thank you cards for my January submission. I even made extras to send work thank yous. Very simple design, lots of fun too. I pulled out the punches for this one -- two circles, two ovals, one scallop, and one corner punch. I wanted to use my Cuttlebug too because I just love those embossing folders...can't wait for the new ones!!!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!! I will get back on track with my health then start posting my weekly blog challenges next weekend. Have a great day!!!!!

Blog Challenge #5

Okay, finally got my challenge card done. I used three stamps - the bee and sentiment is from A Quiet Life plus the Floral background in red ink on the red layer (tough to see I know). The two embellishments are the brads and Stickles on the bee. And I used a 1/16 inch punch for my brads. 3-2-1, it can be done (okay, that's corny). This card measures 5 1/4" square. The base is basic grey with layers of basic black, sahara sand, real red, sage shadow, and naturals white.
Don't forget, used keycode STBC05 when uploading to the SCS gallery. The gallery for this blog challenge can be seen here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?si=stbc05&limit=
Please be sure to stop by and leave some comments. Why not play along yourself as well. Thanks again for looking.

The One & Only U

Today's challenges was ways to use Stazon. I use Timber brown Stazon a lot because I love the deep dark brown color. Here I used it on an acetate overlay (I know, it's hard to see it in the picture, but trust me, it's there. Other pictures it picked up a nasty glare, this one was the best). I stamped images from Bronc Buster and Wanted then used the sewing machine to hold it in place. I've been dying to use the Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces from their Wanted line, so I did. I'm thinking of holding on to this for DH's birthday. It's a 5 1/2 square card so it would be a bear to mail!! Those two brads are heavy!!

I have to go into work tonight to teach several taekwondo classes. Usually I love teaching, but I am so spoiled with having had the past few days off ---(here comes a really good whine...) I don't wanna go!!! Oh well, next week we're off Monday and Tuesday. I'll take it!!!
