My Favorites!

I titled this card My Friend in Basic Grey. Blossoms abound is fast becoming one of my favorite sets and of course I love Basic Grey! Can't wait for their new line to hit our scrapbook store! I ended up using this card for this week's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS - using scraps of ribbon. I need to make another one to send, might as well make a third to keep!!

Blossoms Abound

I do love this stamp set, Blossoms Abound. But then I'm a lilac freak! We redid our landscaping two years ago and put in 8 lilac bushes!! Who knew there were so many beautiful varieties!

I am involved in a monthly swap with some extremely talented stampers. This month we were to make sympathy cards. Like many, it isn't a card I often have on hand. And it's also a card that is difficult to make last minute. I went with Vintage Violet and True Thyme for my colors of cardstock. The flowers are done in Lavender lace/Vintage violet and the leaves are True thyme/Mellow moss. Fine Lace is stamped in the background using Almost Amethyst. Now I have an excuse to add violet and thyme to my next stamp order!! Like I ever truly need an excuse when it comes to spending money on this addiction!!!!!

A Just for Fun Card

I have a SU workshop tomorrow evening (after a full day at work) and a stamp camp scheduled for Sunday!! Hooray I know, but shouldn't I be getting ready for them? Instead, I'm making fun cards and playing with my Basic Grey paper!! Oh well, a girl's gotta find some time to play every once in awhile!!

Card base is Vintage Violet and layers of Close to Cocoa also added along with Basic Grey's LilyKate paper. The Hero Arts flower was painted with watercolor crayons. I love the scallop punches!! Now, who to send this one to?!

Another Challenge Card

Another challenge card from my Michigan stamping trip. All that could be used were the supplies and stamp sets on the table. I got lucky, an aquapainter was there so I could add some watercoloring on the girl. The colors of cardstock were Basic black, Pumpkin pie, Cool Caribbean, Barely banana and Whisper white. The fish is cut out and popped up. My 11 year old son really likes this one - a definite compliment to dear old Mom because he hates it when I make him look at my cards!!!!!!! He's a good kid though, really!

Another snow day today, two in a row. Lots of make-up days will need to be used. We had lots of snow yesterday that turned to freezing rain over night. Then today it's been nothing but snow on top of it all. Makes for some difficult shoveling of the driveway and sidewalks.

Challenge Winner

I spent the weekend marathon stamping with a group of SCS ladies in Michigan!! What an honor to meet everyone - I feel like I have known them all my life. I was so thrilled to finally meet and stamp with my friend Vivian - she is such a talented woman and very generous.

This card was from a limited supply challenge - we could only use the colors and stamp set on the table plus any background and embellishments we may have brought. The white gel pen also had to be used. I still want to add words to the front of this, it looks naked without them!! The flower image is popped up - I used a lot of dimensionals that weekend. The prize was all of the leftover cardstock and gel pen from the challenge -- more cardstock!!!!!!! I couldn't have been more excited!!!!! The colors are Cool Caribbean, Real red, So Saffron and Whisper white. So fun!!!

Secret Valentine

Once again I have been very lazy posting to my blog - shame on me!

This card is for my Secret Valentine from the Wish RAK group. It's a total CASE from the spring mini catalog. That card caught my eye so I just knew I needed to make it. I finally opened up my chipboard that I've been hoarding! Now I will include this in the reveal package to ???. You didn't really think I would say who my Secret Valentine is, did you??!! The package consists of cardstock, embellishments, and some ribbon. How fun!!!

Masculine Artifacts

We made our reservations over the weekend for summer vacation in the Outer Banks. Boy I can't wait, especially now with the snow flying and the temperature well below freezing.

This is another swap card using Artifacts and making it masculine. I've cased it from some talented stamper on SCS, just don't know who. Thought the colors were fun - close to cocoa, chocolate chip, always artichoke and taken with teal. I can't remember when the last time was I used teal! Used several backgrounds, did some sponging, added hemp, and popped up the long front piece.

Off to work I go! When I get home tonight, it's back to my stamp room!!
