It's Wednesday...

And you know what that means...it's time for Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!! And our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps. The prize, hold on to your hats, is 7, yes I said seven, digi stamps that value $21! You really must check out Jodi's site, she has so many adorable images.

Here is the fabulous sketch that Arlana created.

And here is my card, using Ruler Boy, from Bugaboo Stamps. I used my copic markers to color him up. I had this DSP forever, Out of this World by Inque Boutique, that seemed perfect for a boy themed card. Having 2 sons of my own I seem drawn to these great masculine images and papers. I found the chipboard stars in my stash of unused supplies too which fit into the theme nicely. Now play along, we'd love to see what you come up with!!!

You're So Tweet!!

You know I love birds, and this set of digitals, called Love Tweet Love, from Clear Dollar Stamps is adorable! I printed this image onto lightweight water color paper and colored it in with my Tombow markers. The sketch is from the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I used some of the soon to be released Winter Solice colors of cardstock and ribbon from Clear Dollar Stamps -- Raging river, Blueberry Patch, Strawberry jam, White. The DSP is Memory Box's Jubilee. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure and check out the July sneak peeks happening right now over at the CDS blog, Clearly iStamp.

USA

4th of July is just around the corner, so I decided to pull out my Let Freedom Ring digital image from Clear Dollar Stamps and create. Well I needed a sketch so off to find a challenge I went -- and came across one from Our Creative Corner. I used my Tombow markers and blender pen on the flag that was printed on watercolor paper. Lots of fun papers and embellies that I found in my scrapbooking stuff - this was meant to be a layout, but I used it for a card instead!!! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Wormy Says Happy 4th

Isn't this a cute way to say Happy 4th?! This adorable image is digital, and comes from Clear Dollar Stamps. It's a set of 2 images and 4 sentiments called Firecracker Bugs. I used the sketch challenge over at OWH. It is so great to find sketches that help me use up my scraps! I'm off today, hooray, so hopefully everyone will cooperate and let me get some stamping done!!!!!

I Have Some Exciting News!!!

I am about to show to you my very first Sweet Sketch Wednesday card as one of their newest Design Team members!!!!!! I am thrilled beyond belief!!! I have always tried to play along with their weekly challenges, now I get to do it as a DT member!!!

Isn't this a fabulous sketch?!!! Layers...it's all about the layers!!!!!

Our sponsor this week is Shirley's 2 Girls.
Kristen is offering a $10 gift certificate for the winner of this challenge.
Be sure to take a moment and stop by the store it is just full of adorable images.

For my card I used the image Tresors (Treasures). I used Copic markers to give this lady with shopper's attitude some color. Summery colors of cardstock include Bermuda bay, White, Melon mambo, and the bright yellow DSP comes from SU, Morning Sunshine. Of course I included some of my favorite elements - sewing, ribbon, dimensionals, and, instead of pearls, dew drops.
Can't wait to see what you come up with for this magnificent sketch. Be sure to take a long look at the wonderful samples the talented Sweet Sketch Wednesday DT came up with, you will not be disappointed.

Sweet Sketch #3

Here is the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

And here is my third card using it! The digital image is Summer Fairy Finna from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed it onto watercolor paper and used Tombow markers to color it. While it was still in the nesties die after cutting and embossing, I sponged blue ink around. I love that look! I used Kioshi dsp by Basic Grey along with one of their fancy brads. The crocheted flower is handmade...by me!!!!! Can you believe it?! A crocheter I am not so don't look too closely!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful day.

Sweet Sketch #2

This is my second submission for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This stamp set is from Flourishes, Beauty Within. I heat embossed it onto watercolor paper and used my Tombow markers on it. Other cardstock colors include Plum pudding, Lavender moon (both by PaperTrey Ink), White, and the DSP is scraps (I've got lots of these!). I used an embossing folder on the lavender moon layer and did some sewing, my most favorite techniques. Other favorites include the yummy wide satin ribbon, pearls, rhinestones, and dimensionals. Have a wonderful Monday!

Sweet Sketch #1

There are a few blog challenges that I really try to do each week, and when I saw the DT call for Sweet Sketch Wednesday, I knew I had to apply. This is my first of three cards using the sketch. The verse and frame are from Our Daily Bread Designs. ODBD held a contest to submit your favorite scripture, and my dear friend Linda Borneman had her verse chosen...and this is it!!! This card measures 5" square and colors include Chocolate chip, Mellow moss, Very vanilla and Basic Grey's Cappella DSP. I sponged around the edges to maintain that vintage look the Basic Grey is noted for. The frame around the verse is heat embossed in gold. Tomorrow I plan on posting my second submission card, so don't forget to come back!!!

Rocking Your Cares Away

What is it about a rocking chair that brings peace of mind? This lovely digital image and sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps called Quiet Rocking Chair. I had to take several pics of this card because the bling along the top kept reflecting the flash and giving me a bad picture!! I finally broke into my Origins DSP by Basic Grey -- don't know why I was holding on to it for so long! Anyway, I'm really excited about all these new digis from Clear Dollar Stamps, so head on over and get some for yourself, you won't be disappointed. And tell 'em Linda sent ya!!! LOL!!!

More Digis to Show

So glad you're back to see installment #2 of my digi samples from the newest release at Clear Dollar Stamps. Here we have the set Love Tweet Love, which contains 3 images and 4 sentiments. I needed an Anniversary card for my brother and his wife, so this is it. The birds were watercolored with my Tombow markers, cut out with an oval nestie, and sponged with So saffron ink. Papers include Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely DSP, WCP, White, Bubble gum, Turquoise gem and Bee pollen, all from CDS. The ribbon is also CDS's Bubble gum.
Okay, now aren't these cuties, well, cute?! Who knew ants could have so much fun!!! This is from a new digi set called Firecracker Bugs, a 2 image, 4 sentiment set. I adore these ants! And who could resist them holding a sparkler! I used Copics on this card plus highlighted the sparkler with some Stickles. Found some patriotic paper in my scraps, pairing it up with CDS's cardstock - Deep sea, Pucker up, Bee pollen and White. Of course you can't talk about sparkle without adding lots of sparkly bling!!!!! Tomorrow I will post my last card using the newly released digis. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Digi Day Release

I promised yesterday to show you some samples of the newly released digis at Clear Dollar Stamps. This one comes from the set called Let Freedom Ring. For $2.50 you get 7 images, 2 flags and 5 sentiments. You can't go wrong with that! I used my blender pen and ink refills to color in this one. Other DT members who have samples using this set are...
Now if you're a bird lover like me, this set is for you! It's called Resting Bird, and, get this, is FREE!!!!!!!! You can't go wrong with that!!!!! Now don't ask me what kind of bird I was going for when I colored this one in (using Copic markers), I just saw in my head a yellow-bellied grey species of something!!! LOL!!! I keep finding new places I've stashed paper, so I went "shopping" for this Scenic Route dsp and rust Bazzill cardstock. You've gotta check out these samples from other DT members, they will blow you away:
I will be back tomorrow with a few more of my samples, so I will see you then!!!

I'm So Happy!

Last week I was dealing with a potential family crisis which, for now, has settled down. It took all my time and energy that I was thrilled to finally get back into my stamp room. Send up a prayer for me, if you don't mind, my family and I sure could use it! This card is for Laurie Wilson's monthly blog challenge - Clearly Delightful. I love sketches so I knew I had to do this one. I used one of Laurie's freebie digis (will that get me any brownie points Laurie?!), Happy Bird. I watercolored him with my Tombow markers. I used my Labels One nestie to cut the bird out in place of the circle shape on the sketch. And the sentiment makes use of an oval and scallop oval nestie. DSP is Basic Grey's Green at Heart, while cardstock colors include Rich razzleberry, white, and CDS's Lime juice. I also used CDS's Tangelo Smoothie satin ribbon. And, surprise surprise, I did some sewing along the edges and embellished with pearls! Come back the next couple of days, I will have some samples using the newest releases of digi stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps coming out tomorrow. You won't want to be without these!!!!

Count Your Rainbows

Happy Monday!! It started off rather chilly this morning when I was outside hanging up laundry, but the sun is out bright now and warming everything up! I've got me a dual challenge card here: Sentimental Sundays (new or neglected stash) and Stamp With Us (get well). My sentiment is a new set of clear stamps by Inkadinkado, Kids Quotes, that I just purchased. I thought it could put a smile on someone's face as part of a get well message. Back in the day when I was a SU demonstrator I did monthly stamp camps. This is one of the many leftover kits I have from those camps. Some of the kits I remember exactly the card we made out of it, while others I don't. How fun and challenging to recycle them into different cards from what they were originally intended. I added the DSP layer (also a piece of scrap) to jazz it up a bit. Colors include Elegant eggplant, Pretty in pink, White and Old olive. Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Cowboy

I am so hooked on the Stars and Stamps Sunday sketches, and this one is no exception. I just placed a Close to my Heart order and figured I'd start pulling out some of those stamps that I already have...and haven't used yet!!!!! GASP!! This set is called Yeehaw and so much fun, because I was able to make this super quick card in a snap. Colors of cardstock include Chocolate chip, White, Regal rose, Kraft, and Bravo burgundy. The DSP is by Adornit, The Western Collection, that I found in my collection of papers. Of course I added some things like stitching and the brass brads. It is so time to hit the bed, I am exhausted. See you tomorrow.

A Birthday Card for Mardie

This card is for the Clearly Inspired Challenge hosted by Clear Dollar Stamps. Our theme this month is Birthdays. Join us -- use your Clear Dollar stamps if you have them, but you can still play even if you don't. I can't believe I missed my friend's birthday (hope it was happy Mardie!!)! So how perfect is this to mail off to her. I used the Birthday Moose digital image and most perfect sentiment of the three included in the set. I used my copic markers on this adorable moose, as well as nesties, my sewing machine, ribbon, rhinestones and pearls. Colors include SU's Rich razzleberry, CDS's Bubble gum and Lime juice, and Basic Grey's Green at Heart DSP. As soon as I took pics, I popped this card in the mail!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Bright and Summery!

The weather here in Pittsburgh has been sunny and humid...then the dreaded thunderstorm rumbles in. Then, the sun is out bright again. It's such a vicious cycle. The card is for The Pink Elephant blog challenge to use bright fun colors. And that's exactly what I did!!! The cardstock is from Mark's Finest Papers -- Strawberry freeze and Spring leaf. I used a CDS digital image and sentiment called Watermelon Lunch. What an adorable image!!! Thanks for stopping by today, hope you are having a magnificent day yourself!!! The summer vacation countdown is on...then the fun begins!!!!!

Words of Gratitude

What a wet Memorial Day we had...one moment the sun was out bright, then you blinked your eyes and it was dark as night and down came the rain. We were able to squeeze a little bit of time at the pool though, but poor hubby ended up grilling in the rain.

My card today is a dual challenge one - OWH Stars and Stamps Sunday Sketch Challenge and Sentimental Sundays Thankful challenge. The sentiment I used came from Clear Dollar Stamps' Words of Gratitude set. Yep, you guessed it, I also used scraps of DSP (Basic Grey and PTI I believe). With all the cards I've been making recently with scraps, you'd think my pile would be going down...but of course it isn't!!! It's fun putting papers together, or, for an added challenge, pull out several scraps with eyes closed then make something out of it. Now that's a challenge!!
