Happy Birthday!

Papertrey Ink style!! How fun it was creating the cupcakes! I finally opened up a package of Pacific Point card stock -- I have 3 of them so what am I hoarding them for?!!! Besides, the color is gorgeous -- and blue is my favorite color too! The designer paper is by Basic Grey -- I immediately thought of it to use with this PTI stamp set...I even bought extras of this design because of it!! Lots of bright fun colors which is what you need for a birthday card. This one might go off to my brother whose birthday is next month. Thanks for stopping by.

Card for Stamp Camp

This is one of the three cards we'll be making at Sunday's stamp camp. I only have two of them done plus I still need to cut out all of the kits!!!!!!! There will be 16 ladies coming so the third card better be super simple!!!! Don't ask me why I decided on this sketch with all the added work of scoring!! I wanted to use a set or two that are on sale this month. This is Pocket Silhouettes and the flower in the build-a-brad is Eastern Blooms. Love, love, love these colors --- Not quite navy, Kiwi kiss, Baja breeze and Very vanilla. Fun to make and I know the ladies will love it because of the different layout. I'll let you know how it all turns out!!

Just Divine

This card was just for fun. I had ordered from Clear Dollar Stamps thanks to my Secret Sister from last round (Linda, remember how you twisted my arm!!) and decided it was time to pull them out and play. I'm trying to get ready for stamp camp as well so I used the same layout of a card the ladies will be making Sunday. This set is called Just Divine and so fun!! The colors on this card are Chocolate chip, Marigold morning, Elegant eggplant, Old olive and White. I stamped Linen over the grapes and sponged using Creamy caramel. The designer paper is by DaisyD's and where I got the inspiration for the colors. Autumn is on it's way -- I almost turned the heat on this morning, outside the thermometer read 40!

Shhh, It's a Secret!

Because this is for my Secret Sister!! Sure hope she isn't a blog surfer!! I decided to use a Cornish Heritage Farms set because I just placed an order with them and I wanted this one to see some ink---for the first time!!!!!! The colors of ink and cardstock are Taken with teal, Chocolate chip, Soft sky and Wild wasabi. The designer series paper is also Soft sky. The sentiment is by The Angel Company. A touch of ribbon and rhinestone and I call it complete. It's already addressed and in the mail this morning! Thanks for stopping by.

Way to Go Steelers, Way to Go!!!!!

Can you tell I'm a football fan?! I love watching it...on TV!! And I am sooooo glad my oldest doesn't play it!!!
Anyway, here's another card I made over the weekend. Yes, it's for a swap to use any bird stamp along with designer paper, ribbon and brads. This was a color challenge from SCS (purely pomegranate, soft sky and basic black) that I really liked. The bird is from an Inkadinkado set of clear stamps that are super fun. Lots and lots of layers, that's for sure.
We had some damaging winds last night that took our power out at times. Ours returned but many in the area are still without. The only other thing that happened to us was my plant stand blew over and broke several of my nice flower pots. Oh well, no biggie. Our next door neighbor is replacing some of their siding as I'm writing this, and another is cutting up a big tree that fell down so I call ourselves pretty lucky. Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected more harshly by the hurricanes.

Back To Bloggin'

And I'm back to stampin' too! I have been so tired in the evenings it's all I can do to stay awake to get the kids to bed. I always say my kids thrive on routine, but I think I'm right there with 'em and I haven't hit my stride yet with mine! Hopefully getting some mojo back will get me on the right track.
What's new since my last post? Well, I turned another year older for one thing. I treated myself with a shopping spree on line! My kiddos are back in school. My youngest, who has special needs, is in a new school this year and really loves it!! What a relief. Now my oldest is in 8th grade and is doing very, very well. Not a lot of his friends from last year are in his classes, but he's admitted that's okay because he's making some new ones. This week is picture day, open house and he gets to go to the football game and sit with the band. How cool!!
Enough chit chat, on with the card. This is for a swap I'm in. The "recipe" called for any Halloween image, black along with only one other color of cardstock, ribbon and brads or eyelets. The spider is from the Spooky Sweets set by Papertrey Ink, Halloween Backgrounds and Pictogram by SU and the really cool spider web embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. It felt good to finally get back into stamping!!

Ollie and Olivia

Yep, you guessed it, another challenge card from the weekend. This challenge called for a Miss You/Love You card using greens. Of course I had to add some brown in there!! I had received the owls via Wish RAK and think they are absolutely adorable. Stampendous has quickly become one of my favorite stamp companies. I used Crystal Effects on their eyes for a little added shine. The designer paper looks a little yellowy, but it's the Spring Moss line from Papertrey Ink. The satin ribbon is from them as well. PTI is another stamp company that is high on my list of favorites.
Thanks for stopping by. I have to do a little school shopping as my oldest DS starts tomorrow. He tells me he's not looking forward to it but I think he is...don't tell him I said that!!

Happy Halloween!

And Happy Labor Day! Our borough holds a Community Day every Labor Day and this year they're going all out with fireworks and a concert of a local band. My three boys went down so I could get some things done around the house! Wasn't that nice of them?!!
Anyway, here's my card for the Halloween challenge for our WRAK weekend. I had received the Bella image from WRAK. Who doesn't love bellas, so fun and so easy to color (that's coming from someone who has a hard time coloring). I recently bought the Halloween paper at my LSS as well as the fun Karen Foster brads. Now this card along with many that I have in my stash or had received in swaps will be sent to the troops so they can send some fun mail home. Thanks for stopping by.
